Your POV

My eyes flew open. Tears were on my cheeks. I was on someone's lap. G's.

He looked down. I saw his green eyes flash with worry.

"Um," I shifted.

G blushed then helped me up. I sat up on the grass.

"What happened to me?" I said as I wiped off the tears from my cheeks.

"The light, um. I don't know if I'm right but, I think the light attacked you?" G gave me a confused smile.

"That makes no sense, but okay."

The light, the crying, the dark...

those children.

I remember everything now, everything about...

that dream

"You okay?" G's hand reached for me, "You were crying."

"I'm fine," I flinched away from his hand. I looked down, the satchel was on the grass. I picked it up and put it on my shoulder. "I guess we part ways now."

G bit his lips and hesitated. "Right now, right after that?

"What else? Weird things happen all the time." And that's not the weirdest thing that happened to me.

"We'll part ways in the next village, deal?" G said.

I rolled my eyes and sighed, "Deal."

"We've been walking for hours, I might just ditch you." I groaned, my feet and legs were so sore. We haven't taken a break since we started walking.

"Almost there, I think." He sounded tireless. Which shouldn't be possible?

"How are you not tired? Or hungry?" My stomach growled right on cue.

G cursed under his breath. That is super weird, actually, super suspicious.

"I'm a guard," he gave me a forced smile.

"Right," I dropped the subject.

We started to see buildings in the distance. I quickened my pace.

G patted my shoulder, I turned. "Race you," he said as he ran right past me.

My mouth formed into a smile, "No fair!" I started to run.

I caught up with him and pushed him to the side. He shouted "cheater" as I ran past him.

I stuck my tongue out at him and ran. I started to laugh as I ran. The buildings were getting closer and closer.

Something flashed right past me. It was so fast I couldn't even tell what it was.

I looked back to check on G... He wasn't there.

G was that thing that flashed right past me. What the heck?

I started to run again. Need to catch up!

***

I finally got to the entrance of the village. I put my hands on my thighs and bent my knees. I breathed in and out sharply.

"Hey, it took you forever." A male's voice said.

I looked up, it was G. "How are you-*huff*-so fast-*huff*-and how are you-*huff*-not sweating!" He looked, well, he looked normal. To put it simply, it looked like he didn't just run that fast. HOW THE HELL.

WHY DOES HE LOOK SO GOOD AND I LOOK LIKE A WATERFALL.

He laughed nervously, "I don't know?"

"AGGH, THAT'S NOT FAIR," I shouted as loud as I could.
