October 29th

It’s been literally 3 weeks since Trevor’s gotten here and it’s like he has everyone in the palm of his hand. He’s the captain of the football team, star student and EASILY the most popular kid in the student body. Green has become my color. I mean, I’m no wallflower but it seems like Trevor is all that and a bag of chips to everyone BUT me. Well, Logan doesn’t like him either, but THAT’S no surprise. Who wouldn’t feel resentful to the guy who stole your ‘golden boy’ title?

On a non-Trevor related note, I STILL haven’t gotten a dress for the Fall Dance. I’m kinda-sorta hoping if I don’t, the gals won’t make me go. Sure my mom might force me out the door in her old Prom dress, but at least then I can duck out and go to 7-11 and chill or something. Joy seems to find it her ‘calling’ to find me the PERFECT dress. But so far we’ve realized its just NOT THERE. Anyway, we’re having a girl’s night today. After school we’re gonna drive up to Seattle and try and find the perfect dress. (Wait, look, it’s a flying pig!!!!)

I close my notebook and let out a puff of air. Speak of the devil….

“Hey Sierra!” Trevor’s face smiles down at me

“Hi Trevor” I say simply. No matter what happened, Trevor NEVER seemed to get big head. Our football team is in the championships yet he still says that it’s all because of their hard work and focus. I mean, come on. We’re talking 11 teenage boys on a field running to one side. Hard work and focus my butt. Through it all, he’d be smiling and laughing and just encouraging his boys.

“Got any plans this weekend?”

“We’re going up to Seattle to dress shop.” I say, packing up my book bag . By packing, I mean that I’m shoving everything into my bag casually, hoping it will zip up.

“Oh, yea. Dance next week…” He runs a hand through his hair. I glance at him curiously. I have guy friends. When they start fixing their hair, there’s only 3 reasons. 1) Cute girl in the proximity. We were in the library. The only cute girls that come in are looking for a nerd to help with homework. 2) They actually attempted to do something with their hair that day and want it to stay put. Trevor’s hair looks like any other guy’s. Or 3) Nerves. Oh my God. Now I’m scared. It dawns on me.

“You haven’t asked anyone have you?” I say, smirking at him. Golden boy, too scared to ask a girl out. Cute.

“No, not yet.” He smiles sheepishly and runs his hand through his hair again. If he doesn’t stop I’m going to get worry wrinkles or something. “Well, I guess I’ll see ya round.” He walks off quickly leaving me confused. I raise an eyebrow

“O-kay….” I mutter to myself.

“SIERRA!!!”  A shrill voice breaks through the silence of the library/research centre. The librarian half heartedly ‘shushes’ her.

Shoot me now. I turn and smile at the petite girl approaching. Her red hair was tied back with a big white bow and with every step, her hips swayed side to side. Her tiny shorts and baggy t-shirt claimed she just finished up cheer practice. Too bad it got canceled today. (Joy is captain of the squad, she knows these things)  Nicole.

“Hey Nicole, what’s up?”

“Hi, have you seen Trevor?” She stands on her tip-toes peering around the room as if I had hid him behind on of the bookshelves.

“You actually JUST missed him. I bet if you leave now you can catch---”

“No no no. That’s ok.” She smiles sweetly, twirling a loose strand of hair around her perfectly manicured finger. “I wanted to talk to you, ya know, girl to girl!” She sits down and pats the seat next to her. I lower myself slowly into the chair, wary of whatever she wanted to talk about.
