It is only once a tragedy hits truly close to home that we realise what precious gifts we have.

Though the death of Callum Whitelaw is indeed a great loss, we must push through the pain and embrace what life we have, as I know Callum would wish us to do. We must not mourn his death, but celebrate his life, as he would have done.

In his wonderful sixteen years, Callum achieved so much. He was smart, athletic, funny and unfailingly kind. He was, and is, loved by all who knew him.

Though I have only known him for just under five years, I have always felt like he'd been in my life forever. He had a way of making you feel like he knew exactly what you were saying, and always had a response, even if it was always a bit cheeky. His smile could lighten the darkest of days; it was always so innocent and yet so devious, that you were often left speechless. He brought laughter, love and hope to everyone's lives.

Goodnight, sweet Prince.

You will be missed.
