3 days later

The leaves tickled my face as I sat perched in a tree, crouching in preparation. I tense as the sound of a snapping twig rings clearly through the silent forest. Adjusting my feet I swiftly pull my dagger from my boot and count down in my head 3...2...1. I pounce from my position, landing into a roll which I gracefully sprung out of and flung my arm around my now prisoners neck, pushing the dagger to his throat.

"You're getting careless. " I comment, holding him in place. He chuckles.

"No, I just wanted to make sure you got a healthy dose of success since its something you so rarely get when around me." I snort taking the dagger and tucking it back in my boot.

"Sure thing bird boy, you keep telling yourself that."

"Bird boy? Is that really the best you could think of?" I give Robin a grin.

"No, I just didn't think you deserved much thought." He rolled his eyes but chuckled and stooped down, grabbing the dagger that he had been holding before I scared it out of his grasp. "So bird boy, what's on today's schedule?" He glanced at me and shrugged.

"Today we relax. Tomorrow the Merryweathers will be done with, as long as we keep the princess busy that is." It was my turn to roll my eyes.

"That wont be hard, she's mindless. I doubt she even knows she is a princess."

"She's that dense? Well in that case we wont have to do anything." I nod.

"But you can never be to cautious, I have a feeling the servants in the house might nudge her towards the right direction." He nods, then a silence falls between us as we both drift off in our thoughts. I suddenly feel a painful pound on my arm and turn to Robin.

"What the f-?"

"You're it" he cuts me off.

"What the heck! Why did you punch me?!" He sighed like I was stupid then talked slowly, babying me. "Y-o-u-'r-e I-t. You're it, now try and catch me." With that he turns and sprints off, just before he disappears I yell at him in frustration.

"WHAT ARE YOU? TWO?" Unsurprisingly my response was a barely audible yes. Mumbling under my breath I begin to take off in pursuit of Robin.

I felt the chilly autumn air sting my skin as I sprinted through the woods. In the just four days I've been with De Noirs I know the entire forest like I know how to ride Aiden. I would say like I know the back of my hand but I really don't know the back of my hand very well, I really don't know why that's a saying. Thinking of Aiden made me a little sad. Out of all the things in the manor, Aiden is the one thing I regret leaving behind, maybe I can smuggle him back.

In front of me I begin to see Robin sprinting ahead of me. He may be stronger but I am definitely faster which in my opinion is the better of the two. Slowly gaining on him he glances back and I notice his eyes widen at the fact that I'm already caught up. I grin and he looks back ahead speeding up as much as he can.

Looking ahead of me I recognize the area we were in and an idea forms in my head. Changing directions I ran right, taking a shortcut to where Robin would soon reach, and as suspected I ended up at the pond, the first place I found in my adventures through the woods. I knew Robin would be coming at any minute so I sit down at the ponds edge, dipping my feet in as I wait. Sure enough the loud crunching of leaves are followed by a skidding sound as Robin enters the premises.

"Wha-How? How did you get here?" He asks exasperated, panting from his pointless attempt at an escape. I smirk and stand, sliding my boots back on.
