"jeon jungkook"
no response from the said man.
"yah, jungkookie!" jimin called once more as he threw the wet towel right at his boyfriend's face. jungkook snapped out of his daze. his annoyed expression was immediately replaced with a smirk when he realized that standing in front of him was a half-
naked jimin, his hair wet from shower, looking absolutely sexy, also unbelievably adorable with those pouting lips."is something wrong, kookie? you've been spacing out a lot lately."
jungkook pulled jimin onto his lap, "nothing babe. i'm sorry."
jimin cupped jungkook's cheeks and stared deeply into his big brown eyes. "i'm serious. what's bothering you?"
the couple had a staring contest until jungkook decided he couldn't hide anything from his boyfriend and so he buried his face into the crook of jimin's neck, hugging him tighter, inhaling the familiar strawberry scent of jimin's favorite body wash.
"ivebeenthinkingaboutourdinnerwithyourbrother–"
jimin looked at him incredulously. "what?"
"what?" jungkook echoed.
"kookie, i didn't understand a word you said."
jungkook swallowed the lump in his throat and averted his eyes, "the dinner."
"what about the dinner?"
"nothing. just thinking."
jimin was utterly confused. "are you nervous about it?"
jimin took jungkook's silence as a yes. "aww, babe, i'll be there with you. you have nothing to worry about," jimin placed a soft kiss on his forehead, "i know that jin hyung can be scary sometimes but he doesn't hate you, kookie. he has never said anything bad about you."
jungkook hummed, his eyes closed, enjoying the feeling of jimin's fingers brushing through his hair. "it's just dinner, babe. we've done this with hyung a few times already."
"right. it's just dinner."
jimin smiled with the gentlest eyes and jungkook felt his heart clenching but in a good way. he was so in love with the beautiful man.
"i love you so much, jimin." i'm never letting you go.
"i love you more, jungkookie."
the couple shared a short, tender kiss before jimin stood up to get dressed for work. jungkook watched his boyfriend fussed around the room, a small smile etched in his lips. yup, i'm going to spend forever with this man.
. . . . .
. . . . .jungkook could feel his palms beginning to sweat. he was so nervous he felt like throwing up, and the silence between seokjin and him did nothing to calm his frantic heart. he had to say something, anything–
"well," seokjin started and jungkook almost choked on his food, "is there something you want to say to me?"
"uh.." be a man, jeon jungkook! it's now or never!
seokjin raised an eyebrow at him, waiting for his answer.
"hyung," jungkook took a deep breath, "i'm proposing to jimin."
seokjin placed his utensils down and looked directly into the younger's eyes. "i'm sorry, jungkook, could you say that again? just want to make sure i heard it right."
"i'm proposing to jimin in a few months." jungkook balled his fists at his sides, mustering up all the courage he had as he met seokjin's piercing gaze, "i want to spend the rest of my life with him. if he lets me, of course."
jungkook would be lying if he said he didn't care about seokjin's opinion. seokjin was the most important person (besides him) in jimin's life, so yes, jungkook cared a lot. he wanted his approval.
seokjin's stoic expression turned into one that reminded him of jimin. there was a twinkle in his eyes and a bright, genuine smile. jungkook returned the smile, relief washing over him.
"that's wonderful, jungkook. you already know how much my brother loves you so there's nothing to worry about. i'm so happy for you two."
seokjin then asked about jungkook's plans and the two men excitedly talked while they waited for jimin. the walls between them came down right there and then. jungkook felt surprisingly comfortable chatting with seokjin and vice versa. jungkook was glad he had this chance to bond with him. he was about to be jungkook's brother-in-law after all. they needed to get along with each other perfectly.
. . . . .
when jimin arrived, jungkook and seokjin were laughing hysterically about something that only the two of them could understand. jimin was surprised but happy nonetheless. he thanked the universe for whatever happened while he was gone because two of the most special people in his life was finally getting closer with each other.
. . . . .
"did you have fun tonight?" jimin asked jungkook as they get settled in bed.
"of course, hyung. you make all my days fun."
"yah~" jimin hit his arm playfully, laughing, "that's so cheesy."
jungkook turned to his side, his head propped up on his left arm as he grinned at his boyfriend. "you secretly love it."
"because i love you." jimin winked.
"yah~ that's so cheesy." jungkook mocked.
the room was then filled by the sound of their laughters. they spent a few good minutes talking about their day at work before deciding to sleep.
"good night, baby." jungkook kissed the top of jimin's head that was resting on his chest. jimin hugged jungkook tighter in return.
"good night, kookie," he whispered, "thank you for everything."
