Naomi stares at me, smiling, as I pick out a eyeshadow color. Her brown eyes dance across my face as I scrunch up my features. I finally decide on the dark, navy blue. It's the closest color to your eyes. "Okay, I'm ready." I smile, scooting closer to her.
"Don't mess me up, Levitt." She warns, closing her eyes. I dig the brush harshly into the eyeshadow, throughly coating it. I run the brush lightly across her eyelids, between her eye crease and lash line. I put on four layers of the delicate powder. Only because you've known her for four years. She opens her eyes, smiling. "Do I look like crap?"
"You can never look like crap, Ruth." I roll my eyes at her, picking up the mascara. She opens her mouth the slightest bit, widely opening hey eyes. Blush creeps to her cheeks as I swipe the black brush against her brown lashes. I'm guessing that's bot because of the makeup. "Okay, lipstick now. Right."
She blinks a few times, looking up. Once she returns her gaze to me, she nods. "Last thing."
"Alright..." I stick my tongue out the slightest bit in concentration. I pick up the lipstick and open it, leaning down and coming too close to her lips for my own good. I bite my lip harshly, focusing on her lips. I run the lipstick along her bottom lip, getting the edges. I start running it along her top lip, biting down harder on my own lip. "I think I'm done."
In a mere second, her lips are on my cheek. "Don't think much of that, Levitt. It's only because I don't have a tissue." My cheeks burn, nodding.
"Of course...why do you need a tissue?" I ask, a bit... actually a lot confused.
"You pressed your lips after doing them to a tissue. I have no idea why, you just do." She laughed, staring up at me. She looks down at the makeup for a moment and I rest my hand over the stain. You've been wanting that for months. "What time is it?" She asks, sneezing right afterwards.
"Time for you to take my jacket." I take off my jacket and stand up, walking behind her and putting it on her. She snakes her arms through the much larger sleeves.
"Thanks, but I really need to know the time so I can plan the wishes correctly." She smiles.
"How many wishes are there?" I ask, pulling out my phone from my pocket.
"Ten. We only have five hours to check them all off, or most of them..." Naomi's voice trails off.
"Is this the same list you were making in Study Hall earlier this year?" I ask, remembering Naomi struggling with and writing something in the beginning of October. Who knew that seven months later, I'd be checking off the wishes with her late at night.
"Yep, except I had originally made the list in eighth grade." Naomi explains. "I had to change a couple things."
"Okay, so what's the next wish?" I smile, my eyes wandering all over her face and hair. I really like her purple hair, I really like the slight difference in colors too.
Naomi smirks, her eyes gleaming. "Do a guy's makeup."
I don't curse, but shit.
