TSUNDERE MUCH? CHAPTER 1- THE MEETING

Yoshida Miyako and Ookami Arashi have been friends ever since childhood, which is seemingly impossible to others because of their different personalities; the first being a timid yet cheerful little girl, while the latter an arrogant young boy. Neverless, they manage to keep their friendship intact. But will Arashi moving away change all that? Years later, both now in their teen years, they meet again, though it seems Miyako has become more of a stranger than Arashi thought. Will they ever find a way to regain the beautiful friendship they once had? And what’s this, will a simple crush further ruin the chances of the two to interact? Sigh, the complicated life of a tsundere teen…

“Talking”

“Oi, Miya-chan!” I shouted in the midst of other people in the park, trying to get my airheaded bestfriend’s attention. She turned and smiled as she ran towards me.

“Ara-kun, I’m coming!” she replied as she stopped in front of me.

I tsked and flicked her forehead. ”Baka,” I said, irritated. ”I thought I told you not to go anywhere without me by your side, you could get lost again!” I finished, remembering the time she wandered off and got lost in the woods.

Miyako pouted as she rubbed the spot where I flicked her. ”Aww, you’re no fun, Ara-kun, I just wanted to take a look at the scenery...” she reasoned.

I chuckled as I sat down on the ground. She followed and glared, offended by my response.

“What, it’s not like we’ll be going anywhere, you’d have a lifetime to look.” I teased, having no idea how ironic that would sound after a few days.

Miyako nodded then looked at me seriously. “But, just to be sure,” she started “Ara-kun has to promise to always stay by my side forever.” She then held out her pinky finger.

I raised an eyebrow, yet linked her finger with mine. “Promise…” I said, then gave off one of my rare smiles. Miyako’s face shone with glee as she smiled back.

 If only moments like this could last forever…

I sat there, unmoving, unblinking, unable to accept the news that my mother just gave me;

‘We’ll be going away for a while dear, due to Izumi’s studies, I think you should say goodbye to Miya-chan for now..’ she had said sympathetically, but to me it sounded like a cruel joke.

Only about a week ago, I had promised Miyako that I would always stay by her side, what am I supposed to tell her now?

“Dear-“ my mom started, but I cut her off. “Urusai!” I shouted, my mom’s eyes widened.

“Why can’t you all just go away and leave me and Miya-chan alone?!” I said then ran as fast as I could out the house, leaving my mother dumbfounded, but I didn’t care.

All I wanted to do now was escape.

Run somewhere far away and never return. My life was perfect until now. I didn’t care where I was going, as long as I get away from that place.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t realize that I had arrived at the park, I just kept going until I heard a voice, and it belonged to the person I dreaded to see most.
