"Do you have any information for us, Stalkuma?" M asked.
"Yes, Mr. M! Mr. Q managed to find out where the Kuranin are going to be meeting tomorrow to plan out their future schemes: an old train station located just outside of town," Stalkuma explained. "You guys can go and spy on them to find out what they're plotting for their plots that could get into your investigation! And Master Bud-"
"I think that's enough!!" X cut in. "Stalkuma, could you send us the location for where Q traced the Kuranin to? We could go to the site of the rendezvous point and check it out before we spy on the Kuranin."
"Mr. Q doesn't think that it's a good idea. If they hear that you spied on them today, they'd up their security so that you wouldn't be able to break in tomorrow," Stalkuma answered.
A man with dark, curled hair and glasses stuck their face near the camera on the computer. "Q!" X cried.
"Yes, it is me. Ju-I mean... Um... D wanted me to talk to you guys. She suggests cutting off your investigation here and resuming bright and early tomorrow," 'Q' told us.
"That doesn't sound like too bad of an idea. We've been in here for a long time and I bet that it's late. We made a lot of progress on the investigation today. Hopefully, we'll be able to wrap it up before the Kuranin decide to have the city explode," F declared. "But I'm curious as to why they would threaten to blow up the city when we were already working on our investigation into their little group."
"Wouldn't they want to get away and not have to face any charges?" X frowned.
"That's why I think that our mystery caller isn't a part of the Kuranin, though it's obvious that she's related at least loosely," Vesgate told us.
"Whoever the L caller is, they do know who the Kuranin is, but they don't want to tell the legal world personally who they are, which is weird on many levels," Connor announced.
"Why couldn't they just tell us who the Kuranin really is?" Celosia muttered. "It could have saved us a heck of a lot of time."
"Who knows? People can be weird like that," I cut in.
"Anyways, Master B-" Stalkuma was cut off by X shaking his head. "I mean... Master X, Interpol just got a call from GatherLaw. Clarith is worried about you again. She wants you to come home soon."
X started blushing, hiding behind his scarf. "T-tell her I'll be back soon..."
"X has a girlfriend?" F asked, raising an eyebrow with a smirk. "I never would have guessed that would come up during our investigation."
"Clarith is not my girlfriend!!" X shouted, though we all knew that he was lying right through his teeth. He's not very good at lying, I must admit. "She's just a coworker!!"
"Yeah, because that's totally not an obvious lie," Celosia muttered sarcastically. "It's not like I can see through any of your little lies at all... Nope..."
"Connor?" I asked. "Can I talk to you about something? Alone? Just the two of us?"
Connor stared at me peculiarly. "I think just the two of us is the definition of alone, Milan, but sure."
I took his hand and led him away from the rest of the group. "I need to ask you something," I told him. "It's really important."
"What is it?" Connor asked. "Is something wrong? And why didn't you tell everybody else any whatever this is?"
"Now that the killings have happened... My father died and my brother isn't around... And my mom... I haven't seen her in years... So I don't really have anybody to live with," I explained, the words coming out about ten times slower than I had intended them.
"Where did you sleep last night?" Connor asked, panic seeping into his voice.
"There were police officers at my house last night, so I knew I was protected... But now... I don't have anywhere to go..." I told him, rubbing my eyes and sniffing slightly.
"So you want me to help you out until you find a place to stay?" Connor questioned.
I nodded hesitantly. "If that would be possible..." I whispered, suddenly embarrassed at having asked at all.
Connor stared at me for a few seconds before crouching down to my level. He wrapped an arm loosely around my shoulders and pulled me in. "Milan..." Connor began to tell me. "I know that this is hard... Losing so many people and all in the span of just a week..."
"Y-you're going to send me off to an orphanage, aren't you?" I asked, feeling my eyes gloss over with tears. He was going to send me off to live without anybody where I'm all alone!! Why did I think asking him to take care of me was going to be a good idea?! I'm so stupid for thinking he would really accept me as part of his family! We barely even know each other!
"What?!" Connor gasped. "No!"
"You're... Not?" I questioned, rubbing my eyes to wipe away the tears. "Then why did you start talking like you were going to?"
Connor hugged me a little closer. "I want to let you stay with me tonight. And after this investigation is over... Maybe I can work out adopting you."
I gasped, knowing my eyes were lighting up. "You can do that?!" I exclaimed. "You want to adopt me?! That's awesome!!"
Connor smiled at me. "Sure I will. But for tonight, just come on back to my house. It won't be long before we can work this out, I promise."
I could feel my cheeks turning red in my buzzing excitement. "Thank you so much, Connor!!" I exclaimed, hugging him as tight as my arms would permit.
"You're welcome," Connor smiled at me, hugging me back before picking me up and walking me back to his house.

My back hurts like heck because I went upside down so much yesterday and my back hurts all over (as in bruises down my spine) so I typed this on my phone instead of my laptop but now I'll just not do anything for the rest of the day-
