It's been a long time since I've done an album review, so I hope that I don't seem too rusty. I've liked Selena Gomez since I was like 7 or 8 years old, so I figured I'd review her most recent album. I hope you guys like this review! Always feel free to leave your opinions and thoughts in the comments to tell me what you think of my review. Comments and likes are very much appreciated guys 🙂 Let's begin! Hope you like it! I'm not trying to offend anyone with my opinions. And I think I'll start spicing up my reviews by rating each song on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is really bad, 10 is really good.)

These are just my opinions, and they're not meant to offend anybody.

Let's get started!

1. Revival - The album opens with Selena using inspirational spoken word with sounds of the ocean in the background, which was something I really didn't expect. The melody at the beginning of the song is quite . . . distinct, so different that it's sort of odd. Selena's first few lines feel slightly forced but they have an okay flow to them. The chorus isn't powerful, and is quite bland to be honest. She tries to get her voice to climb the high notes, which sounds extremely unpleasant and forced. The chanting is pretty odd. The second verse is pretty good, except for that weird beat change 2 minutes and 16 seconds into the song. The verse ends abruptly, rushing into the chorus, and her voice sounds bizarre when she sings the word "realize." The bridge isn't interesting material, and in my opinion, this ultimately isn't a strong title track or album opener. I give it a 3 out of 10

2. Kill Em' With Kindness - The track opens with nice element - whistling. Selena's voice sounds very autotuned at first. The clapping in the background is a nice addition. The beat and whistling that continue after the build-up/chorus sounds pretty interesting, yet again, there's no powerful chorus to be found here. I like the line,"No war in anger was ever won." Her voice sounds good in this song. The chorus quickly gets repetitive, but at least the songs gains more power as it continues. This is a significantly better listen than the previous track. Compared to Kill Em With Kidness, Revival is quite boring. I give it a 5 out of 10

3. Hands To Myself - This songs takes off the second it starts, which is a good thing. What isn't a good thing is that it opens with an annoying beat and Selena awkwardly whisper-singing. Her voice just sounds hushed and weak. The opening lyrics are mediocre and stereotypical of pop songs ("I want you all to myself") The lyrics are repetitive and Selena's breathy gasps and lyrical sighs are extremely . . . unnecessary. The pre-chorus adds to the song's annoying vibes. The chorus is irritating. The second verse, pre-chorus, and chorus sadly aren't any better. The bridge is okay, and the only thing that prevents this song from being a 1. I give it 2 out of 10

4. Same Old Love  - I like the music and the snapping effect, yet the song quickly begins  to feel bland due to the just-ok but bearable opening lyrics. She then makes a terrible pun that's kind of hard to ignore for all the wrong reasons: "You left in peace, left me in pieces." The beat change 48 seconds in is a fun touch, but does little to lift the mood of the song due to Selena's sulking. The chorus is kind of catchy, even though it's awkward in some parts. It's not a powerful chorus, it makes the song better. Verse 2 is really, really tedious. I give it 4 out of 10

5. Sober - I love the opening music to this song. It sounds really techy without being annoying. The rhyme is a little irritating, but since it's sung to a good beat, it's okay. The chorus is half-way powerful, even though Selena whines a little at the end of the chorus. Even though it's repetitive, it has a few meaningful lyrics, such as,"We fall for each other at the wrong time." The ending 30 seconds is pretty awkward, though. I give it 6 out of 10

6. Good For You feat. (A$AP Ferg) - This song is catchy, yet Selena's vocals are not showcased at all. The chorus is catchy, and the clapping sound is a great addition. The jewelry puns don't add much to the song. It's easy to sing along to and hard to get out of your head. A$AP Ferg has a nice flow as he talks about Selena rubbing on his miniature in the club and how he's not trying to f*** her image up. The cuss words don't really fit the song. I give it a 3 out of 10
