I watch her as she slowly crosses the road, her auburn hair swaying just above her hips. I'm silent, unmoving, unseen. She is mine, always mine, never anybody else's. I'll never let her go.
I run after her while ducking in and out of the trees that overshadow the path to make sure I cannot be seen.
As I reach the corner of the adjoining street, I see her. Laughing. Smiling. Having fun. Without me. Almost instantaneously, I carry myself over to her. However, her friend notices me and steps in between us before the confrontation can take place. I turn on my heel and sprint away.
I'm lost in a darkness that only she can pull me out of. I just want her. Only her. The only girl I ever loved. I'm going to make sure that if I can't have her, nobody can. It's ice cold that night and I find myself waiting at the front door of her house for hours upon hours. She doesn't come home. I begin to get the feeling that she won't be here anytime soon.
It is then that I get the idea and I bound home as fast as I can. Now, I've never been smart, never a 'computer whiz', but something about hacking her phone and laptop cameras seems appealing - even if it would be time and energy consuming. I need to know every single thing that girl is doing without me and I won't rest until I do.It takes two weeks and countless cans of Red Bull but I finally manage to get everything up and running. Two 32 inch monitors are set side-by-side on my desk. They display different video feeds - one is from an iPhone camera, showing the ceiling of a bedroom that is all too familiar to me, one is from a laptop webcam, it shows a bed, one that again is all too familiar. I feel an overwhelming sense of pride at my achievement - not too bad for a beginner!
This means that now,
every breath she takes,
every move she makes,
every bond she breaks,
every step she takes,
I'll be watching her.
