Everyone turned towards the voice, not expecting anyone else to be there. A little ways behind them, standing atop a small hill, was an older looking man with a long white beard with a dark blue pointed hat and a cloak.
Violet2: You! What are you doing here?!
The cloaked man only glared at them. Then he raised his hand and a golden glow surrounded all them. The shadows and backed away.
?:Quickly! While they're distracted!
They suddenly felt a strange tugging and the world went dark for a couple seconds. Then they found themselves on the floor of what seemed to be a makeshift house. There were no windows, only a flickering lamp on a desk.
Scootaloo: I think I'm gonna be sick...
Rarity: What on earth just happened!
?: We had to get away quickly, so I had to teleport you to my home. Forgive me if it was a bumpy ride.
Rainbow: Wait...did you say teleport?
Twilight: But that doesn't make any sense!
Soarin: Who are you?
?: Oh I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I was known as Starswirl the Bearded as you can tell...
He chuckled, stroking his long beard absentmindedly.
Starswirl: But Starswirl is just fine. Now what are your names.
Twilight: Oh! Well I'm Twilight. That's Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy-
Pinkie: Pinkie!
Rainbow: I'm Rainbow.
Soarin: Im Soarin and this is Scootaloo.
Applejack: How can you teleport?
Twilight: Where are we?
Scootaloo: Did that light come from?
Pinkie: Do you have food here?!
Starswirl: Please, not all at once!
Scootaloo: S-sorry.
Fluttershy: Um, what do you mean by 'was known'?
Starswirl: Well, I've been stuck for a long time. That's what they called me back in my day. Now the only around are the shadows and-
?: Oh there you are!
They turned to see a girl about their age with dark purple hair walk into the room. She smiled at them.
Starswirl: Hello, Blaire. Everyone, meet Blaire, my apprentice.
Rarity: Blaire?
Applejack: Are you...
Scootaloo: But Violet said you were in a coma!
Blaire's eyes widened and she stepped closer to the group.
Blaire: Violet?! Is she okay?!
Soarin: *sigh* Not at the moment.
Applejack: In fact she's barely hanging on.
Blaire: *gasp* No...
Starswirl: Excuse me, but I may have a solution to this. You've noticed that your elements are stronger when together, correct?
Rainbow: Well, yeah...
Starswirl: The dark elements are the opposite, and work best when farther apart. We can't let them spread too far, or they'll be too powerful to extract for this spell.
Twilight: Wait what?
Fluttershy: Sp-spell?
Pinkie: So magic is real then?
Applejack: And what spell is this anyway?
Starswirl: *sigh* Seems I got to the plan without acknowledging all the details. Well, first let me explain...
