Fallen Angels

The Choice

Gage turns and looks around

Eagerly looking but there wasn't a sound

"SHOW YOURSELF!" He called after a few

"I'm right here, don't act like you didn't have a clue."

Out of the shadows comes a flame

Starting as a circle then taking its claim.

Finally the image of someone he knew

Came apparent once the theatrics were through

"Gage my friend what have you done?"

His powerful wings sorta come undone

"I have done nothing, none of you have not thought the same"

Pointing his finger at who's to blame

"The Divine forbids this love you know the truth"

He stated as he came towards Gage with unbridled youth.

"These actions of yours has heaven undone"

"I will stand my ground on this until I have won!"

"She knows my name and her power has pull"

Gage continued as stubborn as a bull

"You come here pointing fingers but all I see"

"Are pathetic angels afraid to be free!"

"Don't you mock my love, and what I have done!"

The other Angel said, stunned

"You forget your place, I only came to talk"

"I am the Angel Gybel and you were easily stalked!"

"If I wanted you to be dead"

"I'd had rushed in as you were bowing your head"

At this moment Gage knew it to be true

Gybel was always fast when he flew

"What do you want why did you wait?"

"You could have finished this but now you're to late."

Gage stared deep at Gybel with conviction in his eyes

"Didn't the one you love die?"

Suddenly the room went stone cold

"How dare you be so bold!"

Gybel stood firm and lowered his head

"Yes it's true, my beloved is dead."

"But due to that fact I come to you now"

"Will you stand firm or crumble the crown?"

"For Divinity waits to hear your words"

"I fear your conviction may be blurred"

With that Gybel lowered his head

Found a stone and made it his bed

He continued to speak to Gage about what has been done

How heaven and hell have called all their sons

Gage listened politely as the words sunk in

He wondered if this was a battle he could win

Finally he spoke once he knew what to say

"Has Divinity banished me this day?"

The words seemed to shock Gybel as he sit back

"I have no idea for those words I lack"

"I have chosen to follow your path with eyes open new"

"For what I lost, I hope for you two"

Suddenly Gage knew what was happening here

Gybel's words were all to clear.

"This was a test for you to see"

"Just how much her love meant to me"

Gybel stood up and held out his hand

"I pray you succeed in your efforts my friend"

"I wish I was as brave to follow my heart"

"But her love I have lost and now we must part"

"I was to afraid to take these steps that you have done now"

"For that I will always lay at her grave and ask forgiveness with a bow"

"You are the first of many I have seen"

"Brave enough to take these steps so perfectly clean"

His wings unfurled and they triumph down

He vanished as quickly as he was found

Gage sat silently at the pew

He looked back at Divinity's image all a skewed

"So many have followed these rules of yours"

"So many hearts broken due to these choirs"

"Thank you Gybel for enforcing my way"

"You gave me the courage I needed this day"

He stood up and started to walk towards the door

It was time to search for his beloved once more.
