Angels. The very name conjures up images of holy beings bathed in radiant white light. In reality angels are merely beings that help keep the world moving smoothly and as peacefully as possible. Beings that govern over the Task they are born to rule, whether they like it or not, in hopes of becoming the highest order of angel, the Archangel. However, there was one little angel, no more than a cherub, that wished for nothing more than acceptance.

A hooded figure appeared out of the shadows leading to the Realm of Hell. It stood at the edge of the darkness for a moment, as if contemplating if venturing into the light was worth it. Seemingly deciding it was, the figure stepped forward and pulled a small cloth wrapped bundle from out of its cloak. As the figure pulled the cloth away, a small babe was revealed. At the same moment the figures hood fell back, revealing a man of immense beauty. At first one would wonder why such a celestial looking being was doing in the Realm of Hell, that is until one noticed that the man’s eyes beheld slit pupils and burned with fire and brimstone.
The man then pulled the cloth away from the baby’s body, revealing dark, almost barren wings, sprouting from the child’s back. The man ran his fingers along the spine of each wing. Swirling rich rainbow colored feathers following the trail his touch left behind. Inspecting his work as satisfactory, the man rewrapped the child in its blanket and set it at the foot of a large seemingly impenetrable wall that it knew to be the entrance in the Heavenly Realm. Glancing once more at the child, a small tear fell onto the child’s cheek as the man stepped back into Hell.
When the child was discovered, the angel who found it tried not to shudder at the faint smell of brimstone that lingered in the air around the child, assuming it to be because the entrance to hell was merely a few steps away.

The cherubs name was Isola. She thought it fitting when she came across what her name meant, "The Lone One". She was indeed the Lone One. Isola had no classification and that meant so she had no Task, therefore no Destiny and this is where Isola's troubles took root; her wings were of a kind never before seen, where all other angels had wings of a single color, Isola's wings were an unheard of intricately swirling mix of rich rainbow colors. Perhaps a few things should be elaborated upon at this point.
Angels were classified by the color of their wings. A newly born angels wings could be any color, regardless of linage. An angel couple that bore red and yellow wings respectively could produce a white winged cherub. This was because parentage did not determine a cherubs wing color, their Task did. For example; an angel that bore blue wings was an angel that looked over the medical practices; and angel that bore red wings monitored the progress of the Earths wars and protected those who needed it; and an angel that bore white wings looked over the innocent and the children.
Once an angel received his or her Task they worked relentlessly to achieve what was known as their Ultimate Destiny, this is when an angel would be given their chance to become a Guardian Angel, an angel that took on human charges and led them along the path that would cause the greatest result to the world as a whole. However, if an angel were truly special they would have the opportunity to become an Archangel, one of the Elite.
All Isola wanted was to be accepted. She had been found swaddled in a rough hewn blanket at the entrance of The Gates, the entrance into the Heavenly Realm. Upon discovering her it was thought that perhaps she was a spirit of a human child, but when no angel came to take her to the Beyond, the place where souls resided until reincarnation, they began to wonder about the strange child that had appeared in their midst with wings of the strangest color and the lingering smell of brimstone clinging to its very flesh.
Now at an acceptable age to enter her Task under the watchful eye of a tutor she was shuffled around from Task to Task in hopes of finding one that would suit her, but one never did. She never lasted more than a few hours in each Task, either failing to understand it or the other angels refusing to even attempt to teach her.
