Frankie walked up to the door of the dorm, which would be her home for three years. Holding a box of her things she opens the door. To her surprise a very attractive blonde girl, sitting at the counter. "Hi!" The blonde girl said, with a big smile. Frankie just kinda grinned. "Hi.. I'm Frankie.." The blonde girl got up to shake hands with Frankie, after Frankie put the box of her belongings down. "Well nice to meet you Frankie! I'm Genna, but you can call me Gee." Frankie was never into the perky, preppy type, but damn this Genna girl was already getting to her. Frankie turned on her phone to read a text, "oh whose that?" Gee asked, looking at Frankie's homescreen. "Oh that's my girlfriend. Her name is Katya." Gee's smile quickly faded. "Girlfriend?" She asked. "Yeah I'm Pansexual.' Frankie said, smirking. "Oh..alright." Gee replied. Frankie & Katya had been together for three years, three years of hell to be specific. Katya was problematic and known to lie to & cheat on Frankie. Frankie still loved her though, and tried to make it work. But she couldn't help but to feel more distant from Katya as the days went on, now moving where she doesn't see Katya, they will grow more distant. "Fuck.. Don't fall for the straight girl.' Frankie told herself as she walked into her bedroom. "Don't do it. Don't even think about it." Frankie closed her bedroom door, quickly pulling out her notebook. On the front it read "Frankie's Self Rules" flipping open a fresh page she pulled out a black sharpie. "Don't fall for a straight girl!" She wrote in all caps. Now she could remind herself two months down the road while she was in love with Gee, that she had said in the beginning to not fall for a straight girl. Frankie knew it was bound to happen, moving away from Katya & Katya was bound to cheat on her anyway.. For the fourth time. Gee sat in the living room as she called her mother. "Mom I was put in the same dorm as a gay girl!" She said. Just as Frankie walked in, grabbing a soda out of the fridge. "Pansexual. Not gay." She said as she walked back towards her room. Slamming the door rather fast, Frankie called her best friend, George. George was gay as you could be. "Georgie you won't believe it. You just wont-" George interrupted Frankie. "Fran your already crushing on your dorm partner aren't you?" Frankie rolled her eyes, was it that easy to predict? "Hell yeah.. And just with my luck-". "She's straight as a line isn't she?" George said. Frankie sighed. "Yeah..". "Fran, hun. You can't go to a Catholic, Jesus school & be flaunting around your straight as a motherfucking circle attitude." Frankie let out another annoyed sigh. "But Georgie-" George stopped her once more. "Fran, straighten up. If you get what I mean. Be yourself just leave out certain parts. Don't let everyone know." Frankie was about to go on an angered rant, and George knew it. "Uh um Fran Honey, wish ya luck but I gotta go. My pawpaw made burgers and I gotta be there." But really there were no burgers, there was no pawpaw. George's family disowned him when he came out. But now look at him, nice house in new York, a fiance, and has his own makeup brand! "Okay bye I guess." Frankie said, hanging up the phone.
Frankie fell onto her bed, looking up at the ceiling with a sigh. "Why is life so fucking gross?" She asked, no reply. What was she expecting? She was alone after all. Reaching for her phone she turned on "I'm not Okay" by My Chemical Romance. Standing up, she danced to the song. When she heard a knock at the door. She turned it off, and said "come in?" Gee walked in. "Frankie.. Can you turn um that off please? I'm trying to have a conversion." She said. "S-sure thing.." Frankie turned the music off. Gee closed her door, walking away & resumed her conversation with her mother. Frankie hit her back against the wall, sliding down it until she was sitting on the floor. She felt so alone, away from her family that tried to send her to this Catholic school in hopes of "fixing her", moved away from her girlfriend that she was supposed to love, away from her best friend, and now stuck in a dorm for three years with a preppy. Tears began to roll down her cheeks. She got up, wiping her tears & began to unpack her boxes. Getting out her calendar & hanging it on the wall. "Oh need to.. Mark that.." Pulling out a sharpie she marked March 22nd, "don't get out of bed" she wrote on the sad day. Laying back on her bed, she texted George. "Call me when you get back from pawpaws.." Frankie knew damn well there was no pawpaw. She had been on the phone with a sobbing George so many times about the disowning. It wasn't like she didn't know. Just then she got a text from Katya. "Hey babe." She sighed, Katya was the last person she wanted to hear from. Frankie pulled out her journal. And wrote:
"August 9th,
First day away & I already feel fucking alone. I have a sorta crush forming on the prep I just got moved in with. Georgie doesnt even want to talk to me. Katya is the last fucking person I want to hear from right now, to sum it up, I'm fucked. I'm just going to take my meds & go to sleep.
So long & goodnight - Frankie"
Taking her pills, Frankie climbed into her new bed. She sighed staring at the dark ceiling.
