Supper was quiet and when I was done eating I went to my room and put the book back.  I just couldn't stop thinking about what Kirain said, 'maybe I'm a dire wolf, or at least part dire wolf', then before supper, 'you're faster too, and you're not anywhere close to being stronger since you're a girl.'  All I felt now was anger toward him, and I knew that somehow I just had to show him that a girl like me can be stronger than him, and that I could beat him in combat.

I grabbed my stuffed wolf from beside my head and started tossing it above me and catching it while I kept on thinking over what Kirain said and how he said it.  There was a soft knock at my door, and it opened.

"Ambrissa dear, is there something wrong?  Because you can always talk to me about anything, is there a boy?"  My mom asked.

"Yes it's about a boy, and it's Kirain.  He said something that really got to me, that even though I might be a dire wolf, I can't be stronger than him or a guy since I'm a girl."  I told her still tossing my stuffed animal.  "Do you think that I'm dangerous, because I saw worry in his eyes when he saw me stand next to a horse."

"Well, Ambrissa, Kirain is the oldest and he supposed to take care of you children as siblings.  He used to be so kind to every single girl in the kingdom, but I can only guess that since you're his only sister, that it's different.  You understand don't you?"

I put down my stuffed animal and turned into a wolf then looked in the mirror.  Maybe Kirain was right though, besides I just turned yesterday anyway, I hung my head low and whined.  My mom came over to me, and touched my shoulder, then stroked my back as I layed down infront of the mirror and fireplace.  More whines, whimpers, and whines came from me as I kept on going over what Kirain said and what I could or couldn't do to change what he thought.  She finally left with a goodnight, and left the door partly opened.

Whenever somebody passed by my door, they sighed almost as if they understood something was wrong.  Finally I heard a different noise, it sounded like claws clicking on the floor.  A medium brown wolf padded towards me and I could hear the message they sent to me and replied with a simple whine, then they lied down next to me.  Right now, I could use any comfort and attention that wasn't from Kirain, my anger was still going towards him.

'Ambrissa, I'm your youngest brother, Mikal and I really just need someone to help me to stop being scared of nightmares and scary things like monsters.  Could you be that someone?'  Mikal sent told me through another message.

'You're freezing.'  I pulled him closer with my paw and he stopped shivering, then I realized that his fur wasn't that long and thick, I guessed since he was young.

'And of course I'll be that person or wolf, however you wanna put it.  How old are you anyway?'

'I'm turning six in June.'  He gave a big yawn and stretched his legs out.  'Can I sleep here tonight, it's really warm.'

'I think you're a great little brother Mikal.  Goodnight, and just like I learned, the faster you fall asleep, the sooner the night-night train will come to take you off to dream land.'

I rested my head on my paws and fell asleep with new memories of my young brother with the name that I've always wanted a brother to have.
