Chapter Two
Kayla
"You dragged me all the way home to show me this!" I screamed at Kyle. I swear I was ready to choke this kid.
He started to back away from me, "Sorry?" He said. It came out sounding more like a question though.
My brother wanted to "show me" how all his shoes didn't fit in his closet. I stopped spending time with Jake for this? He owes me. Big time.
"What's up your ass anyways? It's not like you were doing anything." Kyle said.
My jaw dropped. "Yes I was you little prick!"
He opened his mouth to talk but then stopped. A smirk took place on his lips, "You met a boy. That's why you're so pissed at me."
Being a twin was actually kind of a pain in the ass. You knew exactly what the other one was like and why they were that way. One look at them and you were in their head.
"So what if I did." I said crossing my arms across my chest. I just wanted to get out of my house and hang out with Jake more. He seems like a great person.
The smirk got bigger, "And you like him. You like him a lot."
"Yeah" I shrugged. "He seems like a great friend--"
Kyle was shaking his head. "No Kayla. You like this boy. More than a friend."
"I've known him for less than 10 minutes." I replied rolling my eyes.
"Love at first sight," He cooed, "Now get outta my room."
I put my hands up in surrender, "Gladly." For good measure I made sure to slam the door on my way out.
"Kayla! Stop slamming doors!" My Mom screamed.
I looked around the hall way and I didn't see her. How did she know it was me? I spoke my thoughts out loud, "How did you know it was me?"
"Because I heard you yelling through the air vent." She replied from the bottom of the stairs. "Now tell me about this boy you met."
"Mom!" I yelled as my cheeks want pink. Before she could say anything else I went to my room and slammed the door shut. As I flopped down on my not-so-great twin size bed I groaned.
"That's not very lady-like Kayla!" My mom yelled through the vent. I rolled my eyes and made a mental note to close the vent when I got up.
My head turned to face my dresser. The clock read 6:15 so dinner should be ready soon. That also meant 12 hours until school. I just can't wait. Note the sarcasm.

"BEEP BEEP BEEP!!"
I almost had a heart attack as I woke up to the sound of my alarm. Wait, my alarm shouldn't have gone off yet. I picked it up and put it by my ear. Nope, wasn't mine.
Kyle and Mom don't wake up until 6:30 in the morning and its only 6:00 so it's not their alarms. I get up and walk to the french doors leading to my balcony. Which, by the way, were insanely cool.
The houses on my street were very similar in design so they all had balconies in the same places for most of the houses. I got the room with the balcony facing the neighboring house--Jake's house- instead of facing the beach (my mom got that balcony.)
The door on that balcony was wide open, but I couldn't look into the room it was off of.
I jumped a little as I heard the same alarm beep go off. The sound was coming from the room that was off the balcony. That is one loud alarm. After a few beeps the alarm stopped beeping again and someone walked over to the doors to close them.
