Every young girl imagines herself in fairy tale as a young princess hand in hand with her handsome prince with a warm and fuzzy happy ending. You know the kind of story that just makes you tilt your head, gaze aimlessly in the air and say 'ahhhh'. Have you ever dreamed about how your life could've or should've been in some fairy tale or alternate universe? I have two young daughters and every time we watch a princess movie they immediately call out to each other what princess character they are in the story. They watch all wide eyed, with great anticipation for when the princess finally gets to meet her prince charming and fall deeply in love and live happily ever after. Then, after the movie is over they reenact certain parts of the movie and pretend that they are now the characters in the movie and relive each gooey fairy tale moment. They are not afraid of any of the evil villains in the story because they know that in the end it will all work out and they will live happily ever after with their handsome prince who came to their rescue.

Don't you wish life was really like that? Whatever happened to our childhood imagination and sense of trust and security? I guess somewhere along the journey of our lives we begin to loose trust in people and start feeling insecure, empty handed and disappointed in life. We lose all sense of hope in ever experiencing happy endings and warm and fuzzy feelings.

My life was just like a complicated fairy tale with lots of twists and turns that eventually led me to my TRUE prince and happy ending. I have experienced enough trials, heartache and drama in my life that one could use it for a soap opera or TV show. For most of my life I struggled with the question of "WHY?" I couldn't understand 'why' I had to go through so many difficult obstacles in my life just to get to where I needed to be or should be. Over the years, I had to learn how to push past the pain and hurt of my past in order to get to my true fairy tale ending.

Usually in fairy tales the evil villain tries to destroy the princess before she evenknows that she is a true princess. Just like the stories of Rapunzel, Aurora, and Snow White just to name a few. Well it is the same way with our real lifestory. There is an enemy named Satan;and he will try to destroy you before you discover your true potential in God.

Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb Iknew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet tothe nations."

Satan's purpose is todestroy you, and the best time to do just that is when you are young; beforeyou can discover your potential in the kingdom of God.

John 10:10 "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

Satan wants to kill, steal and destroy you. He will rob you of your innocence and identity and inreturn feed you lies about who you are. Jesus has come to do the very opposite, to give you life and all the happy endings that a fairy tale brings. It is not God's plan to harm you in any way or have harm come your way.

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares The Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give youa hope and a future."

Many people get this confused and mixed up and blame God for bringing pain into their lives. However, God will take all of the pain and misery that you are or have experienced in your life and turn it around for your good.

Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

This is what I call "turning your misery into ministry". It is because of all of the misery that I have experienced in my life that I am the person that I am today. I would not want to repeat most of those experiences, but I am grateful to a Savior who can turn all of the good, bad and ugly around and use it for his glory. Just like in every fairy tale there is always good, bad, and ugly; in the end the princess gets her happy ending. No matter what stage of the fairy tale you are living in right now, let me remind you that you will get your happy ending one day.

If you are still struggling with the big question of 'WHY' you are or had to go through something so difficult, know that God never intended you to see pain or destruction. It was never part of God's will or plan over your life but he will fix it in the end I promise. This fairy tale of life all started when Adam and Eve were deceived by the first evil villain ever; Satan! I hope that my story will help you to discover the things that you have been hiding in your life and finally bring them to the surface so that you can finally experience freedom. May the openness of my shame, pain and mistakes inspire you to take off the mask that you are wearing, in order for you to find peace and joy. Finally, it is my prayer that you will find your true PRINCE who is and always has been there for you; Jesus Christ!
