A lonely man sat quiet in a room

With nothing beside him but an old broom

When a knock at the door suddenly arouse

The lonely old man struck a curious pose

"Come in" said the man with no fear in his heart

Suddenly the door split apart!

"Your time has come!" the figure said

the old man simply turned his head

There stood a figure as cold as ice

The figure was far from being nice

the figure was a man with no skin at all

The old man felt his heart fall

Death had come to take him away

but the old man wanted to live another day

"My time has not come! I am still young

MY heart is still red and I still have one lung"

Death shook his head and said with a sigh

"You are old and dying, please don't lie."

The old man thought and pondered away

He knew how he would live another day

"Play me in chess and if you win I will go

But I win my soul I will not know"

Death pondered a bit then nodded his head

"Find but why are the difficult always dead!"

The old man won and cheered away

and Death left for another day

Many years pasted and the old man grew still

With cobwebs and spiders now had their fill

of flies that feast on uneaten food

the man sometimes ate him when he was in a mood

a knock at the door and the man call him in

entered a boy much younger than him

the young man said "your time has come"

"Yes it seems you have won

but how do I know?" the old man said

"Know what you insane old man?" death said sitting on a bed

"I am here to take you so you will be dead?"

"How do I know if you are death?"

"Can't you tell by the smell of my breath?"

"Yes but any man can not brush his teeth"

"This game you are playing is of far beneath!

I will go and come back one day and take your away

and there's nothing that time that you can say

So death left once more with a hug slam

leaving alone a lonely old man

As the world changed the man stayed the same

Suddenly everyone forgot his name

His house became fallen and dust

His metal had all turned to rush

Once more there was a knock at the door

Death had come once more

This tiny as a pale slender woman

this far the most inhuman

She pointed her finger and said with a shriek

"Now you shall turn truly meek!"

"You are coming with me and that is lie!

It is truly time for you to die!"

"Oh sweet lady!" the man fell to his knees

"My great great grandchild is gonna be born please!

Don't take me away just leave me be

let me see the end of my legacy!"

"Your wish is idiotic at best

But I shall leave you be lest

I am mocked for being heartless and cruel

but here you will stay and never leave but to clean up your drool

When I come back you will come no protest

for that, only that, will be best"

Many years past and his tree shriveled up and died

With no more for the man to lie

The cloak chimed twice and smoke filled the air

The man's heart filled with worry and care

Death opened the door and strode in with glee

"Now you will finally come with me"

Death took the man with care

As the man shivered and shook out of his chair

The death descended to his realm

There the man saw and his heart began to swell

His family smiled and took him with care

He saw his daughter and his wife so fair

He hugged his family and Death looked with regret

It opened it's locket and looked at his debt

There a star shone bright

It was it's only form of light

Another soul, all in order

At least till it started all over the next quarter
