Spamano One-shot

the entire story

The moment he heard the front door open Romano knew he would have a bad day. Currently he was lying down on the couch eating pasta his brother had made before going to Germany's.

"Hola Romano!" Spain exclaimed as he walked into the room Romano was in.

"Who told you you could come here!" Romano glared at the Spaniard, while putting down his pasta.

Spain smiled and sat in front of Romano, "Italy called and said you weren't feeling well. So I came to make sure you get better."

"Don't listen to my idiot brother I feel fine!" Romano sneezed.

"Hmm." Spain pressed the back of his hand to Romano's forehead.

Romano glared once more, "What the hell are you doing!"

"Checking you for a fever." Spain removed his hand, "Which you do have, so there's no getting rid of me until your all better."

"Well... What if you get sick!"

Spain thought about it, "I wouldn't mind."

Romano pulled his blanket up and turned away from Spain., "Stupid tomato bastard, Why do you insist on being here!"

"Because I know you'd do the same for me." Spain chuckled, "Or at least show up and eat all my food, but you'd be there."

"Bastard." Romano muttered.

Spain patted Romano's head, "Why don't you get some rest?" But by that time Romano was already asleep. Getting up Spain grabbed the bowl of mostly eaten pasta and went to put it away. When he came back into the room Romano had kicked away his blanket and looked to be shivering.

Spain smiled softly before sitting next to Romano, moving him so Romano's head was in his lap, and putting the blanket back over him. He chuckled and kissed Romano's forehead. "Your so adorable when sleeping." Spain started humming a lullaby before he too, fell asleep.

When Spain woke up the first thing he saw was Romano glaring at him. "Well good morning Romano." He smiled.

Romano huffed, "Its two o'clock in the afternoon, and why am I in your lap!"

"Because your adorable." Spain ruffled his hair.

Romano scowled, "I am not adorable!" He sneezed causing Spain to laugh.

"You can't deny your adorable! Especially when you sneeze like a kitten!" Spain said in a sing song voice.

"Shut up stupid tomato bastard." Romano scowled, which to Spain looked like an adorable pout.

Spain wrapped his arms around Romano hugging him tightly. "You look so cute!" He released Romano and got up. "I'm going to go make food, no getting up!"

Romano turned away muttering, "Not like I was planning on moving." While Spain was cooking he once more fell asleep. Next time Romano woke up Spain was sitting next to him with a bowl of tomato soup.

Spain smiled, "Good you woke up. Oh are you feeling any better."

"No. I feel worse." Romano turned away again, only for Spain to poke him.

"No going back to sleep yet," Spain told him, "You should eat first."

Romano eyed the soup in Spain's hands. "You didn't try to put medicine in it did you? I remember you doing that a few times..."

"Not this time." He handed the bowl of soup to Romano.

Romano finished the soup in a few minutes and handed the bowl back to Spain, "I'm going back to sleep." Turning over Romano closed his eyes.

Spain put the bowl back in the kitchen and walked over to Romano who looked to be sound asleep. Smiling Spain curled up next to Romano and wrapped his arms around him. "By the way Romano," Spain whispered in his ear, "I know you were faking being sick."

"Bastard." Romano mumbled under his breath. "I wanted to be alone."

"I know." Spain smiled softly and kissed Romano lightly. "Te amo Romano."

Romano blushed bright red and hid his head in Spain's chest, "Stupid tomato bastard.... Ti amo anch'io...."

And that's when they both noticed a flash, "Yay!" Italy exclaimed, "Japan owes me twenty dollars for this picture now!"

And done, short sweet and last line is funny, mostly short though. Sorry it was better in my mind.
