I look at the pamphlet Pelipper gave us.
“All of these plots of land are pretty far away from Pokémon Square.” I observe, scanning the list, “But I guess that’s not that surprising.”
I hand it to Zach. He glances at it, the bright blue fin atop his head twitching slightly.
“Here’s one!” he suddenly says, shoving the paper back at me, “it’s that field we saw when we got back from Tiny Woods!”
I remember that little clearing. It’s in a convenient place, located at the crossroads between the ways to the Mystery Lands, Pokémon Square, and the rest of the world.
“Let’s do it.” I tell my partner.
Zach hesitates. “It’s also the most expensive out of all the plots of land.”
“How much is the cheapest one?” I ask pensively.
“200 Poké.”
“And the one we want?”
“…”
“C’mon, how much is it?” I reprimand impatiently.
“900 Poké.” He squeaks.
My jaw drops. “What?!”
Zach sighs. “We’ll never be able to afford it. The only way to earn money without being a Rescue Team is to do odd jobs around the different towns. That only earns you about 50 Poké for job though, 100 Poké if you’re lucky.”
“By the time we have enough it’ll probably be sold.” I say sadly.
Zach nods. “Yeah.”
We head back to the Square slowly.
“Might as well show you around.” My friend says, taking the lead.
