Hundreds years ago the first sign of the plague was found. If you were diagnosed,you were dead.

There was no cure. There was no hope.

Somehow, three doctors managed to contain the disease. No one knew how but it was said that Doctor Schnabel found a cure. No one knows if he actually found a cure,one year after the supposed "cure" was found Doctor Schnabel was found dead,cause unknown.

Hundreds years later a very unlucky woman had symptoms of the plague. This went viral,sending the world in a frenzy. The woman was held into captivity,but it was too late. The air-borne disease was unstoppable. It was unknown how the plague started up again or how it ended hundreds of years ago.

It wasn't the plague that killed the population. The people were killing off their own population...

It was like the Purge. The world was in madness. Many people thought they shown signs of the plague. Hundreds of people committed suicide. Millions murdered each other. While that happened the disease got stronger.

The most smartest people in the world tried finding a cure. Looking up Doctor Schnabel and his studies. They were trying to find something,to find a cure. His notes were unreadable. It was under some kind of code. Even the most smartest couldn't figure it out.

The Reformers/ The Epidemics

A group was formed, after millions  lost their lives,the people called themselves The Reformers,others would call them the Doctors. It depended what the person believed in. If they have hope,they would call them the Reformers. If they didn't they would call them the Doctors.

The Reformers asked for one hundred civilians. Fifty male and fifty female. The Reformers said that they found a cure and needed to test it on people. Half of the world believed in the Reformers. The ones that had hope. Most people were reluctant to volunteer themselves as a test monkey but in the first twenty four hours of the message the Reformers found their one hundred people.

Those one hundred people were never to be seen again. The world was still in frenzy. By that time most of the Earth's population was gone. Everyone was dead or infected.

The Gone

There was one reason why the plague spread out so fast. Someone or something perked the plague,made it stronger somehow. It wasn't just a regular disease. The new plague attacked your genetics and your prefrontal cortex.

If you're a Gone,you're not you. You officially lost every part of your sanity. Since the disease attacks your prefrontal cortex it changes your personality, your behavior. Ultimately your dead. But since the plague was perked the disease turns the host into a new person.

The plague now made the person a killer,completely insane. They have memories of their past but the plague is so strong, the need to kill is as strong as the need to breathe.

The plague creeps in slowly. And you don't know it. The infected person doesn't know that they are slowly going insane.

The plague alters their physical abilities. Makes them stronger,senses heightened. They look just like humans because they aren't anymore.

No one knows where the plague came from. It was always a standing question. The plague was designed to kill off a species. Specifically the human species.

The Gone (infected) are very strong. They manipulate you. Try to kill you. They're going insane but they're very intelligent.

The only way to tell a human from a Gone is their eyes. They glow. No. They don't just glow. At night a pair of glowing red eyes meant that they were a Gone.

Present

As of right now ninety percent of the world's population is dead. The other ten percent are the living,the uninfected. There is more Gone than living. The world is in madness.

It's the end of the world.

Hey guys! So this is a bit of background information. I know it might be a little confusing. The Reformers are the bad guys here and are the ones trying to kill the human species. Later in the story it will get easier to understand as all the secrets unfold... next chapter would be in the main characters view who is Kane Salsburg!
