Chapter 3

The morning sickened me  as I got reminded what happened last night and I didn’t think I could face Max.

Lewis laid beside me as his hand was placed on my stomach while he looked at me , he could probably tell something was up but no way in hell was I going to tell him .

“Babe, you going to go downstairs ? Lily’s waiting for you with Max” His name made me turn my head away in guilt .I already regretted that kiss.

Lewis had already woken up before me , going downstairs to see her but I had just stayed in bed  pretending to be asleep .“Yeah, let’s go” I quietly answered about to get out but he held my hand causing me to look at him weakly.

“Honey what’s wrong? You’re acting funny this morning”

Faking a smile, which probably did look very fake to Lewis , I pulled him off the bed  ignoring his question as we walked downstairs like nothing was wrong. He was never going to let this go and I’d have to keep lying which broke my heart.

“Mummy!” Lily cried happily as she jumped down from max’s arms and into mine.

“Hey baby “ I smiled holding her tight, going into the kitchen with both of the boys  to get breakfast.

Max looked at me with pain in his eyes but I just glared back not saying a word. How could he kiss me like that when he knew I had a family of my own ,a fiancé of my own?

Lily sat at the table while Lewis poured her cereal

“I’m going to go for a walk “ I nodded quickly walking back upstairs to get ready  before any of them could stop me , to be honest I just wanted to get out the house .Mixed emotions filled me as I grabbed my  shorts strapless top and  boots while I rushed into the bathroom getting changed . Once I was done I put my hair into a messy bun.

“Scarlett…”  A husky said through the door stopping me in my tracks. It was max , urgh like I needed him now. “First of all….’I’m sorry” He whispered

Opening the door he went to touch me but I brushed past him .

Lewis rushed over the minute I reached the bottom step , he was seriously worried but yet again putting a small smile on my face he still looked concerned.

His voice was low as he spoke “Scar- stop messing around I know that’s somethings wrong! Please don’t act like this around Lily! She’s worried as well”

Glancing over at her she stared back with a sad expression so I calmly ambled over bending to her level.

“Mummies going to go out for a bit that’s all, nothing’s wrong , don’t think that “ I smiled carefully touching her cheek . Lily just nodded and turned back to eat.

Going over to the door Max rushed down  “ I should probably go with her , try calm her down “ He said to Lewis , his eyes narrowed but agreed anyway.

Rushing out the front door of course Max followed shutting it after him. I just kept walking , walking away from him .

“I know why your mad, just hear me  out!” He started trying to catch me up.

“Really?  You figured out that part! But you didn’t seem to last night!” I spat not even looking at him.

“Face the facts that I still love you Scarlett!! Feelings don’t just go within a few months when you’re constantly around someone you used to be with! Like it or not , that kiss was one I meant and always will”
