Chapter One

Scarlett

People were beginning to swarm the bleachers. My palms were sweating like crazy. I couldn't help it. This was our biggest stunt yet. If someone were to discover we were behind it all, the repercussions would be brutal. Not only that but so many things could go wrong, and in a situation like this something was destined to go wrong, not to mention-

"Stop it." Blaze warned.

"Stop what?" I snapped.

"You're freaking yourself out for nothing." She said in a serious tone.

"I have no idea what you are talking about." I lied, looking anywhere but in her direction, praying she wouldn't call my bluff.

"If your legs would stop shaking I might be more convinced."

I spun to face her. "Okay so I am freaked. What if it doesn't work? Blaze, anything could happen! What if we crossed the wires wrong and next thing you know we're the responsible for the death of over 300 people! One mistake is all it takes and it's all over. What happens if we get caught? They could sue us and if we can't afford the fine...oh God, we aren't 15 year olds anymore, we could get sent somewhere far worse than juvie. If something like that ends up on my permanent record there is no way Brown will accept me, even if I get a perfect score on my SAT's and my essays are stellar. All my dreams will be nothing more than a dream all because of a stupid prank!" My mind was reeling with a million thoughts at once. I felt nauseous.

Blaze raised her eyebrows at me.

"Are you freaking kidding me? How many times have we done this before?"

I casted my gaze onto my busted up converse. Six, six times.

"And tell me, how many times have we actually gotten caught?"

I sighed.

"Exactly." She said not needing an answer. "Never."

"And by saying the wires could be crossed wrong is equivalent to saying I am a complete amateur, which is just plain offensive. Sweetie, I'm an expert." Pleased with little her speech she sat back and continued watching the crowd grow.

She's right. I told myself. Everything will be fine.

We sat at the very top of the bleachers. It had the best view of the soon to be crime scene. If you're wondering why would we want to be anywhere near here let me explain.

The plans are programmed to set off in a specific amount of time. And usually within that amount of time we can easily grab a bite to eat and return to the scene. I can already predict your next question: Why the hell would you go back to the place where it would happen?

Simple, to play the part of the victim, and to see the outcome in it's full glory.

Even though I always freak out at first, I love doing what we do if that makes any sense. Its nerve racking, yet exhilarating and beautiful. Especially when we get away with it. No one ever expects us, they don't think we're capable of such things. It's a great self satisfaction knowing something the rest of the world is too dumb to even consider.

It funny because if you asked me six years ago if I would be involved in one of the greatest pranks in Dalton High history, I wouldn't even hesitate to say no. But that was before Blaze. That girl changed my life for the better. Before her I was barely living. I was dull and perfect. The girl who knew every rule in the student handbook by heart and the only person who actually followed all of them. I was also miss sunshine, it was literally impossible to hate me. Just thinking about the person I use to be makes me shudder.
