Chat Noir raced through the night. His sleek form slid through the shadows so quick that if you blinked, you'd miss it.
He sprinted through the streets, raced upon the rooftops and glided through the air like the wind itself.
Warm, salty tears slid down his face, reminding him of what his dad had done.
Flashback
"Dad! I'm home!" Adrien Agreste called out into the empty house, as usual getting no answer. It was the first day of his Spring Break.
He walked into the living room and stopped. His dad was sitting on the couch, staring intently and sadly at a picture of his mom, Adele Agreste. He looked so angry he could burst. His knuckles were white with holding the picture so tightly and his face was a blustery red.
Adrien tried to back away but his dad muttered, "Stay."
Adrien knew he had to be careful with his words so he tried to be a little more sensitive that he would have been usually. "It's okay if you want to have some alone ti-"
"SHUT UP!" His father yelled.
Mr. Agreste continued, "I did what Adele would've wanted. I sent you to a good school, got you a fencing, piano, and even a Chinese teacher, and what have you done? YOU'VE DISGRACED ME. YOU DISGRACE YOUR MOTHER. YOU ARE NOTHING HERE. YOU AREN'T EVEN MY SON!"
Adrien shook his head, running away from his hateful fathe- Mr. Agreste. He had been disowned by his- Mr. Agreste. He had done everything, but that still wasn't enough.
He would never be good enough.
He ran from the house at 5:00 pm, and went to he school where he texted Nino 'Hey. My dad is... Not feeling well and I was wondering if I could stay with you for spring break.' Nino's reply was this:
Sorry, but I'm already on the plane ride to Spain. I wish that I could help though- keep texting
Adrien wanted to curl up and die. Plagg came out of his jacket, saying things like, "Oh, I'm sure your dad didn't mean it. He was just in a bad mood." Or, "Stay at another friends house for a while."
Adrien eventually, at 9:00 pm, transformed into Chat Noir to see who was still at home. He moved fast, not wanting the citizens to see him.
Flashback over
Adrien found Max's house. Nobody was home. No cars were there and all of the lights were off. It was the same for Kim and Ivan's.
Oh, and there was no way he would go to Chloe's house.
At Rose and Alya's houses, he would be bombarded with questions.
Juleka's family was out of town.
Sabrina would most likely just tell the paparazzi where he was.
So it was Marinettes house then. Good. She was kind and understanding, and would never intrude on his personal life.
It had started to rain when Chat knocked on Marinette's window. 9:48 pm. A light was on in her room, and she was home, thank goodness.
Thunder rumbled in the sky, making him flinch and cower. Marinette wandered over to the window, bewildered, but quickly unlatched it and let him in when she saw him.
"Chat! You are going to catch a cold going out in the rain like that, you know... What's wrong?" She finally asked, noticing the tears.
