Enjoy! Maybe cry.

You POV

Jean and I run away from 2 Titans. I'm towing the exhausted Jean, limping on my bloody ankle. It almost got bitten off by a Titan.

"Run faster, Jean!" I scream.

He nods, panting. We're running, because Jean's 3DMG broke, and I'm almost out of gas. The Titan behind us grabs at Jean. He screams as he gets picked up.

"(F/N)! Help me!" He screams.

I didn't want to waste more gas, but I don't have a choice. I shoot the hooks on my 3DMG. I swing towards the Titans nape, and cleanly slice through it. Jean falls out of the Titans hand and I grab him. I drop him on a tree, as the other Titan walks under me. Then my gas runs out. I scream as I fall. Right into a Titans grip. I struggle as the hand grips tighter and tighter. Then I hear a crack and feel a huge pain in my chest. My ribs are broken. I scream in pain.

"I won't let my loved one get HURT! I'd die as long as he stays alive!" I scream.

"No! (F/N)!" Jean screams.

The Titan drops me into its mouth and I catch a glimpse of Jean before my head goes under. He's screaming and reaching towards me.

"(F/N)! I lo--!"

Then, the mouth closes.

Jean's POV

My eyes widen as the mouth closes. I pull my arms in to my chest, and scream. Tears pour down my face as I scream and scream. The Titan walks away with (F/N) in its mouth. My eyes are wide and the crying momentarily stops. I couldn't save her. I couldn't save the most precious thing in my life. I didn't even get to tell her I love her. She was taken too soon.

Time passed, and eventually(somehow), (F/N)'s body was recovered from the Titan. Her cape and patches were given to me. I thought it's because she didn't have a family. But the man told me it's because she put it in her will. It was true she didn't have a family, but she made sure I got it. Next time, Commander Erwin Smith himself came and delivered me a letter. He said it was from (F/N), then left. I immediately ripped open the letter. It read:

My beloved Jean,
If you're reading this, it means I've left you. I'm so terribly sorry. I couldn't say this when I was alive, but I love you more than words can tell. You were my sunshine to my rainy days, which happened a lot. I'm not sure if you return my feelings, but nontheless, even if you don't, it doesn't matter to me. I will love you until Doomsday. Heaven or Hell, wherever I end up, I will remember you as if it was yesterday. I won't see you again for a while, as long as we end up together, but when I do, I will tell you this in person. So wait for me?

I love you so much,
   (F/N)

I cried as I read the letter. Of course I'll wait for you, (F/N)!!! I love you more than the universe is big. But you were taken too soon!!!!!!

"Don't despair, my beloved."

My eyes shift up as I feel a hand on my cheek. (F/N)'s shimmering form is right in front of me. She was smiling.

"I better not see you too soon after this or I won't tell you."

I chuckled with tears in my eyes.

"I won't see you too soon. But I'll miss you. So you, (F/N), get to wait for me."

She smiled and wiped a tear from her eye. She lightly kissed me before a knock was heard on the door.

"Goodbye, Jean. Remember what you said."

And she was gone. The door opened and a commanding officer stepped in. I touched my lips where the feeling of her lips lingered. A single tear waterfalled down my cheek. And my promise was kept.
