Do You Keep Secrets?

Chapter 1

Anabelum P.O.V.
I have been coming out to the border ever since I turned 15 and worked up the urge to stop being a child. When you're born you live with your parents and they make sure you stay at the house but when you turn 10 you swear an oath to obey the law but if you cross the border the council takes you as an adult.

I come up here to see if I can see anyone on the otherside but usually there isn't so I just sit by this tree and look at flowers and birds and sketch drawings of flowers and birds.

I'm sitting down at that tree now looking at the ground and a shadow suddenly falls over me. A body shaped shadow. I look up to see who's there and on the other side of the border is this boy not much older than me. I jump up and back away.

"Wh-what are you doing this close to the border?", I question him, looking at his eyes. His light blue eyes. His light blue eyes that sparkle in the light. SPARKLE IN THE LIGHT! He's a vampire. Why am I speaking with him?

"I could ask you the same thing.", he replies with no facial expression like it's normal to see werewolves around the border or at all.

"Right. Well I ought to be going now.", I say only trying to get away. I don't know why? I mean he's so cute. His dark long brown hair, light blue eyes, and skin so soft.

I've already turned around about to run away when he says,"Vercho." Confused I turn around.

"What?"

"The name. Vercho." His face still says this is an everyday thing.

"Oh.... Anabelum." I say regretting having told him my name. No. There's no problem with that. He has every right to know my name.

"Beautiful name." Vercho says now with a smirk on his face. He doesn't leave, though. He just stands there.

"I hope I get the chance to scare you again." Vercho says plainly, but with a smile.

I look at him for a while still trying to understand why he's still talking to me. Then he says," That's my way of saying see you soon." Obviously annoyed that I seem to not be able to take a joke. So I smile and walk back into the woods toward the village.
