Oblivion

I wonder if this is what death feels like
A dizzying calm
Slowly taking over your body
Starting with your lungs
Suffocating
Moving to your head
Making every thought disappear
Weighing your body down
You're sinking
Still breathing
But not air
Still speaking
With no words
Still thinking
Empty thoughts
You are there
Simply because you take up space
Eyes casted upon the stars
Still giving directions to the ones you love
Moving at the same pace
Never going anywhere
Because you've been everywhere your supposed to be
There is a fine line between life and death
You are casted into oblivion
The final stage of dying
Oblivion
Where your lungs stop breathing
Your mind stops thinking
Your eyes stop seeing
Your soul stops believing
Oblivion
Where your heart stops beating
Maybe that's why people fear death
