When I was young.
Maybe like five.
Yes maybe around five
Back when I was mature enough to stick out my tounge
My teacher asked me
"What are you?"
As if a five year old would know.
I put the crayon to the paper and said:
I am extraordinary!
Today I said:
I am extraordinarily ordinary
I put the most obvious thing:
I am a girl
I am a quiet girl
My thoughts are louder than my voice
I am smart
I am stupid
I am the girl whose life is nothing
I am the girl whose life is nothing but a contradiction.
I am extraordinary.
I am smart.
I am a girl.
But I am ordinary.
I am stupid.
I am quiet.
I am the girl who can't look in the mirror.
Whose phone rings in the library.
The girl who goes unnoticed.
Because my eyes match my brown hair.
I am plain.
I may as well be Abnegation-
Dressed in grey with not one thing to say
I am boring.
I have nothing to say.
And no one listens.
I am extraordinary.
Just not the kind of extraordinary that exists in your world.
But it exists in mine.
