I turned around and Dean was standing in front of me and Aunt Meredith so I stood up and enter his warm leather coat which is warmer than my sweater then Aunt Meredith left as she knows me and Dean need some time with each other. Out of the blue, I felt a peck on my forehead. "Im sorry." he suddenly breaks the ice that was freezing into the depth of night in the town. "He kissed my forehead." I was mentally pinching my cheeks to know if it’s a dream. "It’s okay." I answered almost crack a goofy smile but I didn’t because I don’t want to make a fool of myself.

"Here." I pull Dean to the bench provided in the balcony of the third floor, making the space between us abet wide apart from how much space we had between each other when we were embracing both of our presence for warmth just now. As much as I wanted to stay like that forever, I do need to have an actual conversation with Dean after I walked away from him in school yesterday. "Dean." I started off looking on the lines of the tiles of the hospital floor before I look up again into his beautiful eyes entering my soul like melted hot chocolate. He looked at me back with no words to say but he looks sad though. "Umm, about yesterday, at school." I started off feeling a bit nervous. "Im sorry. Umm...” I continued. "What you said, about. Making people happy..? I just don’t want to lose you." my heart started to break into small pieces as I stare into his blank soul, a bit tears coming out of my eyes. "Listen, Bev, im really sorry I said all the things to you. I just.. I want to make people happy with whom I am. I needed a change." he said, staring onto the blank tiles. "By letting go of your passion?" I determined. "It’s for the best. And im sorry I’ve hurted you. Im stuck. I can’t think anymore. Im sorry I made you sad and I’d do anything to make you happy again." he cuts off. "Dean, it’s not about me being sad, it’s about you. You're doing this because people don't like you, because your dad doesn’t want you to play. When will you ever think about your happiness? What people think about you is not your business. It’s theirs. I will always stay here with you. I love you, Dean." He looked up at me, glaring into my very soul as I finished my sentences. "Bev...I-i-i" he stumbled. "Beverly!" Aunt Meredith pops her head by the balcony door. “The doctor wants to see you. We need you right now" I followed her to the waiting room because I feel like something is going on. Dean followed me from behind, I can hear his unstable breath running across the hall behind me and I feel bad about it as he is always short of breath. As the three of us entered the waiting area, mom, dad, a doctor and his assistant were discussing on something. "Ms. DeGrandis, I have an important request to discuss with you. Why don’t we head to my room, we'll discuss it there." the doctor motion me and I walked pass mom and dad with Dean following behind me.

"What is going on? Is there something wrong with Ian or is there something wrong with me? Why isn’t mom or dad coming?" A million of questions came rushing out like tidal waves. "Can I come?" Dean suddenly speaks out. "Im sorry, son, but this is private and confidential, we will only discuss it with Miss DeGrandis and to keep it private or public is her decision later on." the doctor answered politely. "Okay, I’ll just stay here then." Dean sits on the blue chair provided in the waiting room.” Okay. Sit tight Dean, I’ll be back." I look at his innocent warming eyes and head to the doctor's office.

"Sit." the doctor gesture at the chair in front of his desk. I took a sit, pull my chair nearer and finally face the doctor. "Beverly, we have some news about your brother's condition" he said, interlocking his fingers and making deep eye contacts with me. "Im sorry" I said, staring at the door, feeling unease. "Umm, I don’t get it; shouldn't my parents be in here with me to hear about Ian's condition?" I said feeling a bit confused. "Beverly, your parents already knew about your brother's condition. The reason why I had to tell you privately about your brother's... problem is because your parents have decided that its best if I explain it to you further whether or not you will proceed with a quick decision." he explained briefly.
"Decision? Is there anything that I didn’t know about? Am I the only one?"
"Beverly.. First of all I would like to tell you about your brother's test result. As you know, your brother was born with LQTS. This condition can be deadly if not treated. He just had a cardiac arrest in the ICU 20 minutes ago and there could not be the second one after this because it could...umm"
"So... is there anything I could do?"
For the sake of his life, I would do anything, even if it means risking my own life, for the sake of my parents’ happiness.
"I suggest surgery but I need supplies of matching bone marrow and type O blood from family members but unfortunately, we found out that your mother has anemia and is prevented from donating blood because it can cause heavy troubles on her health despite her age, while Mr. DeGrandis is on a flu and couldn’t donate blood at the time because he is talking antibiotics and he can only donate blood 2 weeks from now. The surgery is in 2 hours and we really need to find the right blood type because Type O blood is the rarest blood type and you are the only eligible donor for now. Would you like to donate for your brother, Beverly?" the doctor explained and immediately I said yes- without a doubt.
