"Truth or Dare?" Eric laughs. "You've never played 'Truth or Dare'?"

My cheeks darken to a deep pink. "Shut up, Levitt."

"Fine, fine, fine." He clears his throat and looks over at me. "We'll play, only for twenty minutes though."

"I'm perfectly content with that." I smile. I turn to face him, he does the same.

"Truth or Dare?" He asks.

"Truth." I smile, nodding.

"Alright, let's start with the basics." He cracked his knuckles. "Who do you like?"

"No one." I can't tell if it's just my imagination, but I think he just frowned a little. "Truth or Dare?"

"Uh...Dare."

"I dare you to...kiss the bench?" I question, wondering if that's even good enough. Eric shrugs and leaves a lipstick stain on the wood.

"Truth or Dare?"

"Dare."

"Copycat." He chuckles, "just kidding. I dare you to kiss me."

Oh.

Bless loopholes.

I slowly lean over, but at the last moment I dodge his lips and kiss his cheek. "Truth or Dare?"

He chuckles, "nice loophole, Ruth. Truth."

"If you could date anyone in the entire school, who would it be?" I ask.

"Anyone?"

"Anyone."

"Probably..." He ponders over the question for a minute or two. "Ben Retwitch, my God is he hot."

I stare at Eric for a moment, my mouth hanging open. "Um..."

"The look on your face was priceless!" Eric bursts into laughter.

"Screw you, Eric!" My cheeks redden.

"Doesn't every girl want to?"

"Don't forget Ben Retwitch." I remind him.

"Never forget about Ben Retwitch."

"Oh, don't forget to exclude me." I add quickly, "but seriously, who?"

"I don't know, Ruth." Eric sighs, looking at the waterfall branches of the tree.

"Fine." I smile, thinking about Ben Retwitch.

Liar, you're thinking about why Eric wouldn't say you. Maybe you have a crush on him?

"Truth or Dare?" Eric asks, snapping me out of my trance.

"Truth." I bite my tongue.

"What do you want to be when you're older?"

"Asleep."

"Oh." Eric's face flushes red. "Not exactly what I had in mind."

"I want to be able to sleep." I sigh. "I've had this problem since before we met. It's the biggest burden on planet Earth."

"I wanna say I understand." Eric lays a hand in my shoulder. "I really don't though. I have no idea what's it like to not be able to sleep. I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault, Levitt." I smile, shrugging off his hand. "I'll be able to sleep some day."
