"Hello, Ben."
I sigh and glance up at him then go back to reading my book. "Bonjour, Gaston." The book is suddenly plucked from my hands and I turn to Gaston who is looking through it with displeasure. "Gaston, may I, please, have my book back?"
"How can read this? It has no pictures!"
I try to grab the book back, but fail. "Some of us like to use this thing called imagination."
"Ben, it's about time you got your head out of those books." He tosses the book behind him and it lands in a puddle of mud. "Pay attention to more important things, like me! The whole town's talking about it."
I ignore him and gently pick up the book. I grin when I find it isn't as damaged as I expected. Thank goodness. It just needs a little wiping off and it will be as good as new.
"It's not right for someone of your beauty to waste time on reading. Soon you start getting ideas and thinking. Imagine how much strain you are putting your brain through."
"Gaston, you a positively overbearing."
"Why, thank you, Ben. How about you and me go to the tavern and have a look at my hunting trophies?"
I cringe and continue walking home as I clean the book off. "Maybe some other time." He continuously gets in my way every time I try to pass him. "Please, Gaston. I have to go help my father."
Lefou laughs from behind me. "That crazy old loon needs all the help he can get!" Gaston laughs along with him.
"Don't talk about my father like that!" I yell at him. Small, pathetic excuse of a man. "My father isn't crazy!"
Suddenly, there is an explosion and I sigh, knowing exactly where it came from. I hurry to my house, leaving Gaston and Lefou to laugh. Bastards. How would they feel if I talked that way about their fathers? Well, I wouldn't. I respect my elders. That is, if they respect me.
I got to my house and went to the basement where my father is working on his contraption.
After helping clean off, I say and watched as he continued working. He soon got it working then left for the convention thereafter.

I lift my lantern up to the sign and turn towards the left path. Philippe neighs and backs away from it. "Don't worry, boy. It looks scary, I know, but it's a shortcut. Come on. Let's go." Without really paying attention, I ended up in the dirt from being pushed off of my horse. I rub my aching head that hit the ground when I fell and pull my hand back to find blood. Oh no. I look around for Philippe, but instead find that I am surrounded by wolves with my horse nowhere in sight.
I look to a large wolf standing the closest to me. This one must've pushed me off. I stand up and prepare myself to run. I don't know where, but I can't just stay here to die. I need to get back home to Ben.
I turn around and run as fast as I can. I can hear them behind me, but they fall back a bit, giving me space between us to find somewhere to get away from them.
I run face first into gates. I rub a hand over my face, but pay no mind to the pain. I can hear the howling from the wolves as they get closer. I shake the gates as hard as I can, screaming for someone to help. Just in time, the gates opened and I shut them right as the wolves are about to attack.
I back away from the gate and turn around. I'm startled by the intense atmosphere that this castle is giving off. It's creepy, but maybe someone in there can help me. I hug my jacket closer as I walk to the front doors. The air is chilly now that I've taken the time to notice it. I pound on the door, but no one answers. Maybe no one lives here. I try to open it and it creaks open. I quickly go inside and shut the door behind me. I sneeze and pull out my handkerchief, wiping it away. Why is it so wet?
I then feel even colder than before. I look down at my clothes and sigh. How didn't I notice that it was raining? I'm soaking wet!
"Monsieur, you are soaked to the bone!"
I look around for the voice, but find nothing aside from a candle and clock. "I'm sorry to intrude," I say the person. They might just be out of my sight. "I've lost my horse and I need a place to stay for the night, if you'd be so kind as to let me stay here?"
" Of course, monsieur, you are welcome here," the voice speaks again.
I notice movement from the candle and look over that way. I examine the candle and clock and notice that they each have a pair of eyes, a nose, and a mouth on them. I jump back in shock when the candle speaks with the voice from before.
"Follow me, Monsieur. You must warm by the fire."
I hesitantly follow him. "Thank you."
"No, no, no, do you know what the master would do if he finds you here," the clock yells as he rushes after us. "I demand that you stop...right...there!" The clock then trips and falls.
The candle leads me to a chair and tells me to sit in it.
As I do, the clock yells, "Oh no, not the master's chair!"
