Callie's POV:

Tyler and I get in the car. Well it's not a car it's an SUV, but that's beside the point. Tyler lets me sit shotgun. Helen got in the driver's seat and headed to the mall. We went to tons of stores and bought books, picture frames, clothes, art for my room, shoes, purses, guitar picks, a guitar case, a new guitar even though I said I already have one (Brandon's), some jewelry, a jewelry box, and a tv... Yes a tv! I can't even believe it. Even farther than that she got me a brand new laptop.

"What would you kids like to eat for dinner?" We have been shopping all day and none of us had been hungry for lunch.

"Can we have burgers?" Tyler asks.

"Do you like burgers Callie?" Helen asks me and I nod. "Okay then burgers it is. I think we have everything to make them at home so let's go." We walk to the car and pile all of our bags in it. Then head head home. The tv is being delivered tomorrow. Wow I still can't believe she bought me a laptop, a tv, and a new guitar. I just can't even freaking believe it.

When we got home Mr. Armstrong was sitting at the kitchen table reading. Helen walks to his side and kisses his cheek. "Richard this is Callie. Callie this is my husband," she says.

"Oh Callie! It's so great that you're here, welcome! We are so happy to have you," he exclaims. These sure are happy people, but why are they so happy to have me here? I just smile politely and not. Tyler scoffs at his parents and walks up the stairs.

"Tyler come back down here and help Callie bring her bags to her room. Callie why don't you go and relax for a little bit while I get dinner started, okay." I nod and take as may bags as I can in my hands. Tyler, who has now come back down the stairs, follows me with the remaining bags.

I open the door to my purple bedroom. "Uh you can just set those anywhere." I tell him. He sets them on my bag and starts to head for my bathroom door, it's a Jack and Jill bathroom that connects our rooms. "Tyler. Can I ask you something?"

"Yeah sure," he says turning around to face me.

"Are your parents always this nice and happy?" I ask him.

"Happy? No. They fight all of the time. They are never this nice to each other, but they feel guilty and that's why I, and now you, get almost whatever you want. Basically, my dad's a dick and my mom tries to hide that's she's depressed with pills and a fake smile. This act of being perfect for you will ware off in a week or so." He stops. Probably from the look on my face. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to freak you out. I was just answering you truthfully. Yes they fight and yes it gets loud, but it isn't a bad place to live and if you ever need to borrow headphones don't be afraid to ask me. I have a ton." He says smirking at the end. I hold up my earbuds. "Those won't work. Hold on." He says and then walks into his room and comes back. "Here. Oh and you can call me Ty, only my parents call me Tyler." He hands me a pair of white Beats Studio by Dre.

"I can't take those. I've looked them up, they're like $300!" I exclaim. He can't be serious!

"I have more. Plus they're noise canceling and you are going to need that. Seriously don't worry about it. Now I have to go sleep before this fake happy dinner. Again sorry for being so blunt about it, but I don't want to lie to you." Then he leaves. Wow. I know he was just being honest, but wow.

I shake the thoughts out of my head and start to put everything away. I put all of my clothes away and line my shoes up on the shelf in my closet. Then I line the books and picture frames on my bookshelves. Leaving one frame for each of my nightstands. I prop my new guitar up against the wall and fall onto my bed, exhausted.
