Chapter 1

"It's Friday Friday gotta get down on Friday..." I heard that god awful song meaning it was time to get up. I slammed my hand down on the alarm clock in hope of shutting it up and it worked!

Let me introduce myself, my name is Skylar Marin and I am 17 years old. I have dark brown hair and light blue eyes, well I say light blue but from a far they look grey. I wouldn't really say I was popular but I do get at least one 'hi' or 'hey Sky' a day. I have loads of friends in this one group but my three best friends are Aria Mitchell, Shay Cooper and Cate Richards. They are the greatest friends you could ask for. Aria has black hair with brown eyes, Shay has light brown hair with dark brown eyes and Cate has blonde hair with green eyes. We all go to BloomFields Secondary School and we are in our last year. My favourite teacher Mrs Rea, is going on maternity leave so we have a sub for the rest of the school year, oh the joy *note sarcasm*.

Summer break was so much fun, I went to California with Aria, Shay and Cate for an American style spring break- of course we weren't allowed to drink so it was kind of illegal drinking. But oh well. I live in London so it was good to get away, my parents are both doctors so I could afford a few weeks there.

I looked over at the clock and it read 6:45, which meant I needed to get up. I reluctantly pulled the warm covers off me and stepped onto my fluffy carpet. I stumbled over to the shower and stripped off. After I had finished cleansing myself I dried my hair and straightened it, I did my natural make up which was only eyeliner, mascara and lip gloss then decided on what I was going to wear.

I picked out a yellow tank top and ripped skinny jeans, I wasn't really up for anything too spectacular I mean it was school. I added my blue Vans and the bracket my parents got me, I also put on my litter heart necklace I got in California, we all got them in different colours: mine in purple, Aria's in green, Shay's in orange and Cates in hot pink. I put everything I needed into my bag and picked up my phone.

I walked out of my room and checked the messages.

From Cate:

Bbe luk @ the foto I just found of us in Cali! 1st day of skwl :/ I hope we have near the same classes :3 xox mwah!

Typical girls! I wanna major in English because I would live to be a writer, mostly everything I write now is personal or something online. We decided to go on spring break after we saw Spring Breakers, it's our favourite film as a group and it really inspired us to go. I didn't bother texting them back, instead I just wen down stairs and got some breakfast.

After eating I started walking to school. I slipped in my earphones and started listening to Ed Sheeran You need me I don't need you. It was a 25 minute walk to school so I had enough time.

I finally got to school and started looking around for the girls. I soon found them standing over by the gate I ran up to them and gave them all hugs.

"Errghh!" Cate moaned. "I never wanted spring break to end."

"Me neither. It was so much fun." I pouted.

"Did you get your schedules?" I asked.

"Yeah and being the good friends we are, we got yours too." Aria handed me my timetable.

"Thanks love you." I smiled and looked at Mondays date.

The new teacher is Mr Styles?! Sounds like a 35 year old drunk.

"Guys?" They all turned towards me. "Who do you have for English?" I asked.

"Mr Downs." Cate answered.

"Mr Gibson." Shay gritted her teeth but I just giggled.

"Mr Styles the newbie." Aria smirked.

"Me too." I frowned. "He sounds like a 35 year old drunk." I said voicing my thoughts.

They laughed an drew bell rung. I needed to go to my locker.

"I need to go to my locker." I voiced my thoughts again.

"Yeah me too." Shay said. Shay's locked was neighbours with mine, so we told the girls we would meet them at break and went off to get some stuff.

I put in my code: 23 right 33 left 17 right. The door opened and I chucked my jacket in there and picked up a pen that was hanging on my door. I checked myself in the mirror and applied another layer of lip balm before shutting the door. I then made my way to science.
