Prologue

'Beware this world where monsters roam, it's filled with deadly fright; Beware the shadows and the dark, those glowing eyes at night...'

That warning ran through my mind over and over as I sat perched on the edge of a ten story hotel rooftop. My unusual golden glowing eyes over looked the capital city of the five great nations, Konoha. The lights from the buildings and streets reflected off the dark sky. The combat boot on my right foot clicked slightly against the bricks as it swung out into the air and back again. Chuckling slightly in remembrance of the sentences meaning. I took in the scent of the peaceful night grinning behind a black mask that covered my nose and mouth. Only those that are weak and foolish would fear the monsters of the night. From the moment I was brought into the world I was raised to embrace the darkness and shadows as the kid of a mafia boss. However, due to the fact that I was born a female I was not allowed to just take my rightful place as family head. I was raised to the age of fourteen, in which time I mastered all my fighting abilities and marksmanship training, then was tossed into a ring with my father and ordered to fight him to the death. It was the only way a female could take the place of family boss. I fought as hard as I could but was unable to defeat him at my young age. The consequence was my memory. I don't remember much of my childhood. Beaten to within an inch of my life by my own father I was banished from the family and have lived on my own for about three years. In those years I had made a name for myself as a bounty hunter going after some of the toughest gangs out there, daddy dearest is at the top of that list of bastards I want to crush. I will become leader, and i will change the way this city is ruled.

I brushed a hand through my waist length platinum white hair that glowed in contrast to the dark nights sky. Glancing at my watch I shifted and stood to my feet. It's almost time. I tucked my hair into my black jacket and lifted the hood shielding my face in its shadows. I double checked the curved knife attached to my hip making sure it was secure and the beautiful black retractable crossbow was snapped onto my right arm and its custom white arrows in a quiver on my back. I was ready for just about anything. Glancing down at the street below I grinned as around the corner of the building came my target. His name was Yoroi Akadou. He was one of those douche bags that wore a dark blue beanie and sunglasses at night, I mean I can understand the beanie, but the sunglasses... Come on man it's night.

That black haired beady eyed man ran for a gang called the Hidden Sound, who were number three out of five on my list of criminal organizations to destroy in this city, but he was just an underling. The man was right on time though, very punctual. He was alone, which was his first mistake, being predictable was his second. He was on his way home from a gang meeting right down the road, just like I was told.

I shot a grappling arrow into the wall adjacent to my current location and slid down to ground level silently behind him. Quickly I unhooked myself and fired an arrow into the lightbulb of the streetlight he was walking under. It burst into a barrage of Sparks and color and He turned around instantly locking his widened eyes with my glowing ones a flick of fear showing briefly across his face, but who could blame him, I was a notorious gang murderer. No one has ever beaten me since that day with Father.

"y-you... But how did you find me!?" His shaky hand reached to his pistol and fumbled with the release latch, but it never made it out of its holster. With a icy cold glare that would make satin himself shudder in fear I raised my right arm out in front of me. My crossbow clicked out into position and I slid an arrow into place.

"No!! Wait just a m-moment don't!!" His pleas and cries were begging to get to loud for comfort and it was possible he had company near by. The intricate crow tattoo on my bicep began to glow white, an abnormal thing it did when ever I was about to take the life of another or even when I would become enraged. I had no clue as to why it does that or even how I obtained the tattoo in the first place, only that I've had it ever since I could remember. It was beautiful, however if left uncovered during the day it would be a dead give away as to who I was so I kept it wrapped on a daily basis.

I never answered the man, the only sound came from my bow as it fired a white arrow right into the mans chest. The force of my arrow slamming into him was enough to knock the sunglasses right off. His body crumpled to the ground, his chest heaving slightly as it took its final breaths.

"L-Lord Orochimaru w-will kill y-ou before you e-even get close...." A gurgled chuckle left his bleeding mouth as the life faded from his dark eyes. The feeling of taking another's life was never a good feeling, but the regret was always drowned out by the happy thought of getting another gang member off the streets. A truly blissful feeling that only made me think of my father and how when the day came I would shatter his whole empire.

Walking up to the body I felt in his leather jacket. I was told by that reliable source of mine that he would have a slip of paper revealing the next meeting location of the Hidden Sound, which I found tucked neatly in his pants pocket. I'd have to apologize to my source for doubting that the mark would be so stupid as to write it down, but that would have to wait for a different day. My trained hearing could pick up a few pairs of footfalls and some shouting from around the same corner the mark had appeared from. It was more than safe to say that extra unwanted company had heard his cries, however, I had got what I came for and I wasn't about to risk losing a big lead like this in a stupid fight. Quickly I shot a grappling arrow into the hotel I was previously perched on and made my way to the top before they had even rounded the corner. There were four of them, all of whom I recognized after doing extensive research on the gang. Dosu kinuta was knelt beside Yoroi along with a dark haired female named Kin Tsuchi. A boy known as Zaku Abumi stood looking around frantically, two nine mill pistols pointed in every which way possible. The last one stood with confident pride. His hair was as white as mine and he wore round glasses that covered his stormy grey eyes. The twinkle of pure intelligence shone in them as his eyes calmly scanned the rooftops and landed on my almost silhouetted figure. Our eyes met and locked for a brief second. Kabuto Yakushi, someone that I'd have to keep an eye on at all times. He smirked to himself and spoke. Without wasting anymore time I ran across the rooftop and out of his sight. Jumping across the roof tops I grinned to myself at what I heard him say. 'We'll be meeting soon White Crow of Konoha.' The thought was somewhat funny. He was definitely a genius.

"Indeed we will." I spoke out loud to no one but myself as I ran. He was like me in a way, unafraid of the monsters of the night that the warning spoke of. His eyes held the same monstrous glint as mine.

Beware this world where monsters roam, it's filled with deadly fright; For I am the shadows in the dark and the glowing eyes at night...

I am the monster of which it speaks.

My name is Karasu Shiro Kazuki.

I am The White Crow.

You have been warned.
