That dork up there is Patrick. c;;
(Dallon POV)
"We think there's something wrong with Brendon." His words rang in my ears. Who was we? What could possibly be wrong with him? With all the shit he's going through, I think he has the right to have something wrong with him.
"Wait a minute. Who is we? And I think, just for the record that he has the right to have something wrong with him. Do you know the shit he's going through Patrick?" I wanted to seem stern, but I think I went a little overboard because Patrick actually seemed surprised.
After realizing I was waiting for an answer, "We..would be Andy, Ken and I." He took a long breath. "It's a long story. I know it seems like we're being dickheads but just let me explain."
People all around the coffee shop were staring at us.
I sat up straighter, and tilted my head back, exhaling through my nose. "Explain." He looked down at the table, and started fiddling with the brim of his hat.
"Okay. So. When we were in the kitchen, before you came in..Brendon was like..saying the weirdest things about you." He paused for a moment. "I think it was maybe..just that he had been drinking.. Or the drugs..ya know?"
"Wait a minute." I looked him dead in the eyes. "Just because he was talking about me, makes you assume something is wrong with him?" I was getting mad. I knew I shouldn't be defending him like this but it just made me mad.
(Patrick POV)
I was starting to think Dallon was right. I was being a jerk. Maybe Brendon was gay, or bi. I didn't need to be an asshole about it. I needed to support him. But I don't want him to make any stupid mistakes because of drugs or drinking. He already lost Sarah, and if she hears about anything stupid he does she won't let him see the kids. I know how she is.
As if on cue, the bell above the door chimed and in walked Sarah, and Ryan. How peachy.
(Dallon POV)
I looked at Patrick, waiting for his response yet again. It seemed as if his attention was focused near the door. So I focused my gaze on what he was looking at. Sarah, and Ryan. They didn't see us at first, until Ryan started looking around for seats. My back was to him, so I doubt he knew it was me. But he did see Patrick.
"Hold on.." I heard him say from across the room. His footsteps were getting louder behind me, and my heart started beating faster.
"Patrick?" He got around to the side of the booth, and looked at both of us. "Oh. Dallon. Sorry. " He didn't know Bren and I had been talking. This aught to be fun.
"Hey, how you been?" I put on my fakest smile, and cheeriest voice. "Is that Sarah over there? Is Brendon here?" I was going to kick his ass. I turned and waved at Sarah. She smiled, guilty.
"Uh..No Brendon isn't here. And I've been amazing. How about you?" He was such a shitty liar.
"I, have to use the restroom. Take a seat. Tell Sarah to come over here. It's been years." Patrick didn't want to be a part of this. I could tell. So he scooted out of the booth and walked to the bathroom. Ryan waved Sarah over and they both stood there awkwardly. I got up and gave them both quick, tight, hugs. We slid into our sides of the booth, with Sarah on the inside across from me.
"Sarah, how're the kids? And Brendon? I heard he's better.." I wanted to kill them both. Even though we hadn't seen each other in years, I still considered Brendon a close, and important friend. Ryan was the complete opposite and it had been longer since we had last talked.
"Actually..Um. We're getting divorced..The kids are pretty good though..I'm here with Ryan." I tried to make my face look shocked, but all I felt was anger.
"Oh..I see." I gave Ryan a dirty look, just as Patrick walked over and slid into the booth next to me. "I heard the news. Brendon told me." Apparently they still talked.
"We have to get going." Ryan looked uncomfortable. My goal had been reached. I was going to reach into my pocket, and tell Brendon about what had just happened, but from last night I doubt he wanted to hear about Sarah.
SOOO THIS CHAPTER WAS KINDA SHORT, but anyways. I'll make them longer. I just couldn't think of anything interesting to put. Also, I accidentally published it without putting this so here I am. I'm probably gonna go through the other chapters and edit, make sure everything is all good and snazzy. <3 Ily guyssss.
