Lucy's POV

Tonight is the masquerade ball and yes I don't want to go, my father can find love on his own one day while working and she just happens to be a princess and when I'm born no I can't find love a have to have a ball with every prince to find my husband and many other princesses and duchesses, and I am going to marry a prince all for the purpose of money but not like we already have enough of that!

"Have guards on all entrances do NOT let the salamander in!" I hear my father yell to the guards, the salamander is a well-known criminal/thief with charcoal eyes and his iconic cherry blossom pink hair and seeming this is the ball for my hand in marriage with all the princes and duchesses he is sure to show up with all the expensive jewellery and money and the palaces famous gold, diamond, whatever ever other jewel encrusted ring that is being showcased in a glass case, so he is coming but I don't really care.

I put on my pink ball gown and put a mask over my eyes and make my way down the grand stair case and go into the palace kitchen while the other guests arrive, the reason I'm doing this is so while everyone is dancing and arriving I can sneak in so no one will know who I am, as I make my way through the room I see all the people with very pretty dresses and all wearing a mask. About an hour and a half, I have danced with about 8 men and talked with many people but I try not to get involved and stay by the buffet but that is kind of hard when men think I could perpetually be the princess, I then see a shifty character by the door I make my way over to him and stand by the wall close by, I lean against the wall uninterested by what the shifty man and other people are doing then all of sudden someone grabs my hands and pulls me towards the dance floor, I spin around to see the shifty man he was wearing a black suit with no tie and had a black mask covering his eyes and up, he has black onyx eyes that could make any heart race, a cute smile, and light Brown hair

"Why hello there beautiful" he says placing his hands on my waist and shoulder as we make our way through the crowd of people dancing and into the middle of the ball room floor

"Hello and who might you be" I ask as we glide across the floor

"That against the rules isn't it?"

"I guess it is" I smile at him

"So you enjoying the ball"

"Well I have to keep dancing with all these men who think I'm the princess"

"Well are you?" he smirks

"That's a against the rules isn't it?"

"Trochee"

"Hey what is with that golden sapphire key looking necklace around your neck?"

"Oh this" I look down at the key

"Oh... it doesn't open anything if that what you're wondering, but it was my mums she gave it to me when she died, she called it the Aquarius key because the sapphires are in the shape of Aquarius's star sign and she loved it and told me to take good care of it and it is my only memory of her so I never take it off"

"Oh... sorry about your mum"

"No don't be tonight is a ball let's not spoil it"

"Okay"

"You know you are the most fun and interesting person I have met tonight"

"Well it's not over yet" he smirks, I look at him confused but don't bother to push on about it, after about 10 minutes of talking and dancing I notice he keeps looking up at the chandelier, the front door and a raven back haired guy slow dance with a red haired woman I look up him and then see some strands of cherry blossom prink hair falling out of the brown haired wig... Cherry blossom pink hair... Salamander... is that him he then looks at me

"it was nice to meet you" I look at him, he kisses my hand and then the lights go off, I hear gasps and screams from around the room and I feel the salamander's hands leave mine and for some reason I get this pain in my chest like... like I didn't want him to leave, we hear some bashing around from the worried gusset's and the guard trying to turn the lights on after about a minuets the lights finally turn back on and the salamander and that raven and scarlet haired pair are gone, most the prince and princesses necklaces, bracelets and moneys is gone I look down to see that he didn't take my necklace but why? I quickly look up where my father is who is turning red from anger as the ring is gone from its glass prison

"SALAMANDER!!!" My father yells, I look at the main entrance where no one is look at the moment and see a flash of pink hair I then run out the door but no one heard because of the commotion, I run out to the front garden and look around try it see him I quickly hitch up my dress and run out the gates looking from side to side, then I hear a quick whistle and I look up to see him standing on top of a roof building he looks at me and puts two figures on his forehead and salutes me while winking at me then jumps down behind the building.

It is now an hour and a half since the salamander and his friends attacked, everyone is gone and I'm getting married to no one so in a way I guess I have to thank that salamander, after I when back inside my father was at the top of the grand staircase and sais the marriage was off until the salamander was found the ring was returned and after everyone left my maid Virgo get my night gown out I get changed then sat on my bed say good night to Virgo as she left

"Who is he" I sigh as I lay back covering my eyes with my arm, for some reason I can't stop think about him he just won't leave my mind, after a few minutes pass I groan and walk out onto my big balcony the wind blows my hair all around me as I walk to the edge I rest my elbows on the balcony and star at all the pretty lights making the town look lively, I take a deep breath replaying to night

"I hope to see you again Salamander" I mutter to myself and walk back inside and go to bed.
