After our little encounter yesterday I guess you could call it, Scott headed off home because he had an early shift this morning. I cleaned up the small mess we left in the living room as soon as I woke up and showered after. As I was making my way out of the shower wrapping my towel tightly around my body my cell phone rang. Running as quickly to my room as I could I grabbed it off of my dresser and pressed answer.

"Hey Mom!"

"Hi sweetheart I was just calling to check in on you, your father and I were going to drop by and bring you lunch"

"No mom that's not necessary, really I have to meet up with a friend in another twenty minutes anyways and I still have to finish packing"

"Friends? Packing? Whats going on honey?"

"Nothing Mom I'm just taking, uh I'm just talking a little trip is all"

"Honey why? you have your studies to get back to and-"

"Mom well talk about this later"

I clicked off the line tossing my phone onto my bed and looking around on where to start looking for something to wear. I didn't know where to start and it seemed as if time had been ticking faster and faster and I panicked in fear of being late. Ruffling through my closet I pulled out a cream sweater with black stripes and tossed it on my bed. Grabbing a pair of dark washed skinny jeans I laid them out on the bed as well and smiled in achievement of this outfit. I quickly pulled on a pink pair of panties and matching bra and nearly tugged my clothes on as I looked at my watch.

"Crap! how can I be five minutes late already?" I asked myself pulling on cream fluffy calf high socks and then my black boots. After looking myself over in the mirror I grabbed my jacket and beanie pulling them on as I grabbed my keys and phone and ran to the elevator. I was trying to decided whether or not to call Scott and tell him why or why not I may be late but figuring he would care I settled on not calling. When I finally got outside I looked around as the snow was melting but it was still wet from the rain. It all looked so gloomy but I walked over to my now fixed car and got inside.

I didn't drive much since the accident but I knew at some point I would have too. The Coffee shop that I had been meeting Scott at wasn't far from my place and I could have actually walked but since it was about 30 degrees out I decided to be smart and drive in the heat. It only took my ten minutes to reach my destination and the moment I pulled up I saw Scott sitting but the window with his coffee cup looking down at a book. I smiled as I got out of the car and made my way inside. Taking my seat in front of him I pulled off my jacket and placed it behind me on my chair.

"Sorry I'm late my mom called and held me up a bit" I told him. This was actually the truth but I might have taken a little longer then expected in the shower due to shaving my legs.

"It's alright to tell you the truth I just got here two minutes ago I got held up at work" He said smiling and leaning back in his chair. That would explain why he was still in his police uniform.

"Ahh so what happened some thief walk into your station demanding he talk to Officer Batman to turn himself in?" I asked earning a small chuckle from him as he flashed that bright smile.

"No I uh I wish that were the case we had a hit and the victim that was involved was considered DOA so its just been a rough morning" He said and I smiled briefly looking down at the table. I knew what a DOA meant because that's the term they used at the hospital that night of the accident. Holland was declared Dead on Arrival.
