(By far the longest chapter I've done yet. Hope you enjoy)
Laila had been on the bus to go to the campsite for what seemed like hours and she was getting annoyed. She hadn't payed any attention to the other kids since she had put her headphones in but until now and it seemed like her brother had already made friends with others his age. She was glad that he wasn't going to be bothering her. She looked around to find a boy around her age staring at her.
"Oh um...hey there," he says after realizing that he had been caught.
"Why were you staring at me?"
The boy looked to the floor like he was embarrassed and said, "I've always went to this camp every year and I usually know everyone but not you. This your first time?"
"Yeah," was all Laila said before putting her headphones back in her ears and laying her head against the window and closing her eyes.
Suddenly Laila feels her shoulder being tapped and opens her eyes to see who it is.
"Good mornin miss daisy. We've arrived at the campgrounds," the boy from earlier stated in a cheery voice. Laila hadn't realized that she fell asleep.
She gets up and tries walking away from him but stumbled and was falling until someone had grabbed her waist, pulling her up. She looked up to find the annoyingly cheery guy with brown eyes holding her close to him. Usually she had always looked for guys with blue eyes but surprisingly he had beautiful brown eyes. She hadn't really noticed him until now. He had dimples when he smiled which was what he was doing at her.
"Now who's the one starin," he said in his country accent and a smirk. The only accents she liked were Irish and Scottish and sometimes Australian accent.
Realizing what he said, her face felt heated and she knew she was blushing. Pushing him away she replied, "I wasn't staring... I was just wondering what that was from." She said, pointing to the scar on his forehead, it wasn't big and she wouldn't have noticed if she wasn't close enough.
"Uh huh. It's from when I was younger. I was playing around some of my dads tools and tripped over his tool box and hit my head on this dresser he was fixin for my momma."
She was actually starting to like his accent.
"Hello?" He asked her.
"What?" She asked, snapping out of her trance.
"I asked what your name was," he replied with a chuckle.
"Oh, um, my name's Laila. What's your's?"
"Laila. That's a beautiful name. Well Laila, my name's Preston," he replied again with that strangely calming accent.
"Thanks," Laila blushed, "Well, I better get...yeah.." She pulls away from him. She hadn't realized that he had been holding her still until this moment.
"Right. It was nice meetin ya," he replied before backing away from her. She grabbed her suitcase and other bags and made her way off the bus.
Laila looked around and saw numerous little lodges, a few tents, a building, and one huge lake. She's only ever went to pools her whole life.
She made her way to the main building where the cafeteria was but was stopped by a figure. She looked up to see who the figure was and her heart rate speeded up when she looked into his brown eyes.
"Well hello there again miss daisy. Long time no see," Preston said.
"Could you please stop calling me miss daisy? I have a name and I've already told you what it was," Laila said with an eyeroll.
"Sure thing miss daisy," he said with a grin.
Laila rolls her eyes again before walking around him and leaving him behind. She might think he's good looking but being good looking only gets you so far. Plus, they eventually fade.
"Hey wait!" He called out to her.
"What do you want?"
"I'm sorry I just couldn't help it," he apologized. She stops and turns to look at him. His eyes held sincerity.
"I forgive you."
"Are you gonna go sign in?"
"Yeah, here you gotta sign in so that they can giveyou your schedule and all that."
"I have no clue where to go..."
"I could help you if ya want."
"Thanks," Laila gives a grateful look towards him.
"C'mon let's go get you signed in," he said in his southern drawl.

After getting signed in, Laila went to the lodge that she would be staying at for the summer. Since her mother signed her up for most of the summer, she had gotten a lodge instead of the bunkhouses where kids who stayed for a certain amount of time lived. She was thankful she had gotten a lodge because a bunkhouse did not sound good to her.
The lodge had two beds and a bathroom. It was honestly cute which she did not expect it to be. She expected bugs to be crawling in all corners and the wood to be as old as time but surprisingly it was very clean and sanitary and did not have any bugs. That I see, Laila thought.
She sat on her bed, trying to text Ava, but her phone had no reception which did not surprise her. She had watched movies. She knows that the girl's phone will die and the scary murderer will pop up and kill her. Just while she was thinking this, the door to the lodge bursted open and Laila jumped up so high she fell off the bed with a scream.
"Hi! I'm Ellie, your new roommate boy have I been excited to meet you. We're going to go to ALL of the parties and meet all the hot boys and dance and-"
"Woah woah wait... they have parties here? And you don't even know me.."
"Not right now but we'll get to know each other in time and yeah they have a lot of campfires here where the kids our age and older drink and oh by the way totally stay away from Hannah and her slutty self or it'll rub off on you and you seem like a nice person. I just wanted to warn you. Oh and stay away from her man or she will make your life hell."
"Ok..." Laila was a bit shocked by her new roommates outbursts. She didn't expect someone like Ellie. She had been expecting Becca's roomate off of Pitch Perfect, not Ellie, but she's glad. She reminds Laila of Ava. The two definitely would get along.
"Anyways, is this your first year here?"
"Yeah."
"Great! That means you have to come to the bonfire tonight. They usually throw a big one at the beginning of the summer and at the end. They are totally rad. Well, the party starts at 7 or something so we should get ready!"
"It's like 4 though..." Ava had tried taking Laila to parties and Laila had gone to a few but they just weren't her, "plus, I have no clothes for a party."
"That's ok, I have some clothes, what size you wear?"
Laila told Ellie her size and it turned out they both were the same size which made Ellie think they were meant to be best friends. Laila didn't know if Ellie was high or if this was just her normal self.
After a few hours they both were ready and were out on their way to the party.
(Hope yall enjoyed if so just push that star button. I'm not sure when the next update will be so sorry about that)
