Skinny Latte Love (a Caspar Lee fanfiction)

The rain hit the ground heavily as I walked quickly down the street trying to reach my destination before I got soaked to the bone, I walked into the small coffee shop placed on the end of apple tree lane, it was my usual spot I was knowing in here so well known I didn't need to give the waitress's my order they knew it off by heart, 

"Morning Caspar" Kendell the owner said shooting me her normal cheesy grin 

"Good morning" I replied also smiling before making my way to the back of the shop

I sat in my usual seat and whipped out my phone, this place was pretty busy this morning considering it was only nine am, as I looked up from my phone my eyes fixed on a couple sharing a milkshake they looked about my age, they were laughing and smiling with the odd smooch now and then. I don't know why but having a girlfriend never appealed to me I wasn't a firm believer in that thing called ‘love’ and everything that it entailed. The love songs,holidays and anniversaries that occurred. The labels and commitment,  time and words that always had to be just right because if they weren't it would end in a long night filled of arguing.  The pressure of belonging to someone and giving them all you had, What ever happened to casual, no strings attached, sex? To not needing anyone but yourself? No one needed to remind me. I can remember perfectly fine on my own.

"are you Caspar?" A small voice asked, I looked to the left and saw a girl with purple hair standing in front of me holding a coffee

"That's me" 

"here's your coffee" 

"Thank You love, I haven't seen you before" 

"it's my first day I just moved here from New York City a few weeks ago" 

"you left new york to live here? did you have a break down" 

The girl laughed in a cute little giggle before tucking some hair behind her ear, 

"No I didn't have a break down I just needed a change I guess" 

"well maybe I could show you around some time? I'm always looking for something to do" 

"that sounds sick" 

"great, oh I didn't catch your name" 

"oh right yeah I'm Aimee" 

"lovely to meet you Aimee" 

"it was lovely to meet you too Caspar now I have to get back to work but i'll see you soon yeah?" 

"yeah see you soon" 

Aimee smiled and headed back towards Kendell who was sorting out more orders, my eyes stayed on her for a good few minutes before I shook my head and went back to texting my friend.

I looked up at the clock then turned my attention back to the window, the rain was still pouring down heavily but now thunder and lightning was added to the mix. 

"this weather is shocking" my flat mate Alfie said to me as he walked in taking off his soaking hoodie

"you don't say, it hasn't stopped all day where were you?" 

"Kendall's Coffee, I was in need of one of her caramel shortcake slices" 

"she makes the best shortcake slices in town" 

"true that, have you seen the new waitress?" 

"Aimee yeah she was in this morning" 

"she is f-i-t" 

"you have a girlfriend" 

"I know man I was just saying and her american accent is adorable" 

"it's certaintly cute" 

"you know maybe you could get to know her a little if you catch my drift" 

"Alfie you know fine well I don't believe in any of that" 

"but why? you won't stay single forever surley at some point you'll want to get married and have children" 

"Maybe...." 

"you're a strange one boy, I don't get you" 

"I don't get myself most of the time" 

"fair enough but seriously Caspar think about it, no one's saying you have to fall in love instantly just go on a few dates see what happens there's a lot of people who don't believe in love but then they find someone who changes there whole view maybe you just need to meet that someone"
