OhHey. So, I did this story in rememberance of the Xat chatroom where I met my current boyfriend at. Ironically, we dated back then too. I guess this is kind of just a 'walk down memory lane', as some might call it. Just remembering the old house, and some memories I have of my boyfriend and I back then.
It's kind of written in the third person? I wrote it kind of how I RolePlay. Out of habit.. xD
It sounds pretty cool, though, in my opinion, so I hope you'll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I actually put a lot of emotion into this story. I kind of almost cried at the end, because I haven't been there in almost three years, and I know it's never going to make a return, but, I enjoyed taking the time to write all this. As short as it is. So, feedback, please? I also wouldn't mind if you critiqued my writing a bit, so, please, feel free. I'd like to know what you guys think of my writing.~
'Kay. I've wasted enough of your time. Go, read! D:
She walked up the stairs that lead to the second floor the old house. As if an instinct, her hand reached out, gliding over the railing as she slowly brought herself to the top of the staircase. Once at the top, she began walking down the small hallway, stopping in front of the last door on the left. It had been nearly three years since she last visited this place. She took a deep breath as she turned to face the door, her hand slightly shaking as she placed it on the doorknob. Turning it slowly, she closed her eyes, taking a deep breath as she pushed the door open, taking her first step inside. She opened her eyes, a smile slowly spreading across her face as she took in the room. It was exactly as she’d left it three years ago.
As she took a few more steps into the room, nearing the desk against the far wall, she noticed a framed picture setting on the corner of it. She carefully picked up the picture. He had his arm wrapped around her shoulders, smiles on both of their faces as a female was sitting on the couch above them, laughing as someone was taking the picture. She laughed softly to herself, remembering what the female in the picture was laughing about.
-----
He turned his head towards her, chuckling softly as he said, “She won’t leave me alone until I do this..” She laughed softly as well; quite sure of what he was going to say next. Although, when he did, she found that she still wasn’t prepared to be asked. “..Will you go out with me?” he finished, looking over at her still. The female thought this over for a minute, her breath seeming to catch in her throat so she couldn’t speak right away. She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. As she opened her eyes, letting the breath escape, she looked at him, letting out one single word, “Yes..”
-----
She smiled at the memory as she was pulled back into reality by a buzz in her pocket. Probably just a friend wondering where she’d run off to. Choosing to ignore it, she turned from the desk, walking towards the opposite wall; to the bed. As she got closer, her gaze fell upon the small bear that was resting on her bed. She took the few remaining steps to the bed, sitting down softly as to not mess up the blankets. Reaching over, she grabbed the bear. Bringing it towards her, she hugged it tightly to her chest. She smiled, remembering the familiar feel of it. As she was laying the bear back down on the bed, another memory came back to her.
-----
They were lying on the bed, just staring at each other. She was smiling as she held her bear close to her body. He was watching her as she did this, waiting for the right moment. As soon as she noticed he was watching her with such intent, her smile faded slowly as she looked back at him, wondering if something was wrong. When he seen her look up at him, he began to slowly move towards her. By the time she had acknowledged what was happening, his lips were on hers, a light blush spreading over her cheeks as her smile returned. Her heart sped up twice its normal speed as she kissed him back, feeling him smile against her lips as she had his.
-----
Realizing she was biting her lip, she felt a light blush spread over her cheeks. Shaking her head, she stood, grabbing the bear as she slowly headed towards the door. When she got to the doorway, she stopped, turning around as she looked around the room one more time. Her gaze falling on the desk again, she walked over, picking up the picture. Once she had it, she felt a slight smile spread over her face. Walking to the doorway this time, she didn’t look back. Once outside the room, she closed the door behind her, heading back down the hallway. She walked back down the stairs, instinctively turning towards the living room. Going along with this, she walked towards the living room, sitting on the couch. As she did this, she had an army of memories flow into her head. There was one, though, that caught her interest enough to replay.
-----
They were standing in front of the couch. He reached out, placing his hand upon her arm gently, as to draw her attention away from the others in the room. She jumped slightly at the sudden contact, turning to face him. He was smiling, though she had no idea why. As if reading her thoughts, his smile widened, ever so slightly. As she stood confused, watching him, he began to speak. “I love you.”
It seemed as if time had stopped momentarily. She couldn’t speak; she could barely breathe. As if sensing this, the male reached out, touching her hand. She looked up at him, coming out of her trance-like state. A smile slowly spreading over her face, she replied, “If ‘I love you.’ means my heart stopped when you said that, then I love you too.” He smiled, leaning in as he kissed her for the second time that day, the second time ever.
-----
Standing from the couch, she smiled. She gathered her bear and her photo back into her arms and headed again for the door. One hand on the doorknob, she turned, taking in the small house. A lot of good memories had been shared here. One thing she knew for sure as she pulled the door open, walking back out into the sunshine; she was never going to forget this place, the people she’d met here, or the memories they’d shared. Once off the porch, she stood on the front sidewalk, turning back to face the house. Pulling out her phone, she snapped a quick picture of the house, labeling it with a simple caption.
“OurKind. Always Remembered, Never Forgetten.”
