Ib's pov.
"Ib, did you remember everything?" Mother asks in a soothing tone. I nod in response.
"How about your handkerchief?" She persists. "You know, the one you got for your birthday?"
I smile a bit and hold out the lace handkerchief for mother to see. She smiles back.
We enter the museum, father leading the way.
"You're going to love it ib! I just know it." Mother says as she looks at the breathtaking entryway.
"We should go to the reception desk" father says. Mother nods her head in agreement. We walk over to the large desk in the middle of the room. Mother and father talk with the man behind it while I look at the poster behind him.
The poster had a picture of one of the most popular paintings in the museum. It was a picture of a creepy looking fish under the ocean, and it was the main reason we were here today.
I turn to mother before asking, " may I go on ahead?"
Mother turns her attention to me, her eyes narrow slightly. "Yes, you may go, but don't cause any mischief. Okay?"
"Okay!" I say excitedly and walk off into the museum. I look around at the various works of art, most of which had titles I couldn't read. I was only nine years old, so many of these words were strange to me.
As I was walking I notice a strange looking man with violet hair. He wore clothing that was a little less fancy than everyone else's. I blink a few times before moving on.
"Look mommy! A kitty! A kitty is painted here!" A little girl about my age shrieks.
Her mother looked at her with a smile. "Yes Ally! It is a kitty."
Seeing those two together reminded me of my parents. They were very close to eachother, but being their daughter, I had to be prim and proper. I sigh and move on.
After walking around the museum a bit, I notice a large painting hanging on the wall of the second floor. I read the title. '??? World'
"Huh... I guess I don't know that word." I sigh and prepare to move on and find mom and dad.
All of the sudden the lights flicker on and off. I look up and see that they are perfectly fine. "That's weird..." I mumble.
I also noticed that the constant chatter of the people in the museum had gone quiet. I rush through to see that nobody was around.
"Mom?! Dad?!" I yell, hoping for a reply.
No luck.
The many rooms of the museum were silent as a stone.
Terrified, I make my way to the reception desk at the front of the museum. The man was gone. I look out the window to see it was pitch black out. That's when I notice the red fluid.
I jump back and see what appeared to be blood, leaking from the window I was looking out of. I scream and run up the stairs.
I pant as I reach the top of the steps. My heart stops a moment when I hear banging on the window in front of me. Sure enough, there is a hand print on it.
'Its just your mind playing tricks on you.' I think to myself. 'Yeah.. Just your imagination.'
I look around the museum. Weirder and weirder things started happening. A few of them I know weren't my imagination.
I finally make it back to the large painting I saw before. There was a strange blue fluid leaking from behind it. I make my way over and examine it closer, when I hear clicking noises from behind me.
