//February 23, 2030. Train No. 801, 10:13 AM//

The train was a lot more luxurious than I suspected, so I mentally thanked Joe for being so high up in the Interpol world. We all paired off, me with Joe, F with X, Connor with Milan, and Vesgate with Celosia. Joe, who had taken the window seat, stared off into the distance tiredly, lost in thought about one thing or another. I found myself leaning my head on his shoulder in hopes of catching up on the sleep I hadn't gotten the night before.

"Are you okay with this?" I asked him.

Joe nodded and hugged me with one arm. "Yeah," he told me. "And... Are you worried about what could happen if we do run into the Kuranin today?"

I hesitated before nodding. "Yeah... I guess I am a little bit nervous about what might go wrong today... But you'll be there, so I feel better about going into danger like this. Even if I'm kind of a failure as far as field agents go..."

"At least you're better than Griffin," Joe told me with a humored smile.

"But everybody's better than Griffin," I pouted.

"Not everybody. Besides, Q's worse at field stuff than you. You'll do fine, Drew," Joe said.

I laughed. "Thanks," I smiled at Joe. I closed my eyes and tried to catch some sleep, but then...

"We're here!!"

I never realized that Milan could be so loud. I grunted and forced myself away from my boyfr-JOE'S shoulder. I looked across the aisle to see Milan staring out the window propped up on her knees. The train slid to a stop. Joe helped me up and we all walked out of the train and into the station.

A limo was waiting for us once we were there. I once again cheered for Joe's high spot up in the legal world, as the limo was so spacious that all of us fit inside. I sighed in relief and leaned back in my seat. Joe was next to me, ordering the driver around with that dominance he'd had in all conversations unless they were with that Lennix Autumn creep.

Joe leaned back as well, closing his eyes and letting me place my head on his shoulder. I saw a flash in my vision and noticed that Milan had stolen Connor's phone to snap a picture of Joe and I cuddling with each other. Instead of angrily snapping at her like I knew Joe would, I decided to take the peaceful route before Joe could start yelling. "Send me that," I whispered.

Joe didn't say anything rude to Milan afterwards, which relieved me, as it was kind of my fault they didn't get along in the first place...

"How far away is this train station, exactly?" F asked, listening to the gentle clicks of X's fingers drumming on the keyboard.

"Not very long. Q told me it's about a ten minute drive from the station we were at, so sorry to M and N, but you guys aren't going to be getting all that much sleep," X answered. I tried not to groan inside, as it would only make Joe angry. He's the overprotective boyfriend type, if you can't tell.

"As a matter of fact, it looks like we're here," Celosia commented. I opened my eyes, much to my disdain, and smiled slightly. Within a few hours, we'd have the entire Kuranin case solved. We'd find out who killed all of our family members and get the monsters who did it thrown into jail to rot for their crimes.

That sounded a lot more evil than I intended for it to sound...

Once we were all outside, Joe whispered a few things to the driver, which I already knew comprised of 'we'll be going in there now' and 'I'll call you when we need a ride back'. The driver nodded and drove away, leaving the eight of us abandoned at the station.

"Q, where are we going first?" X asked, touching his earpiece. I hoped that Q didn't sass off at him for touching his earpiece, which could give him away in another situation...

I ended up hearing Q's voice in my earpiece as well. "Go in there and take a right. There are four heat signals under the tracks to your left once you take that right," he told us.

"Follow me," F instructed. We all followed her lead through the hallway and took the right that Q had told us about. Sure enough, there were train tracks to our left, and if I looked down through them, I could see four people.

One of them had strawberry blonde hair. This one was a man. He stood next to another male with dark brown hair. The other two people were girls, though one seemed considerably older than the rest. The shorter one had strawberry blonde hair with a few ginger highlights to it and a braid crown that wrapped around her head, which was a bright teal. The other girl had black hair that reached her shoulders.

All of our voices went silent as we tried to listen in on their conversation. Sadly, there was too much space between us for any of us to catch even a bit of what they were conversing about, which made me frown. Of course things weren't that easy and one of us would have to find a way to get closer.

The others seemed to sense what I was thinking, so Celosia pointed to herself and then down under the tracks. We all tried to retort with her offer, but before we could, Celosia was already running down there.
