Hunger

  I was sleeping peacefully. That's a lie I hadn't got a ounce of sleep when my mother knocked on my door.
"Hey, it's time for school." She half yelled. I begrudgingly sat up.
"Could I stay home?" I whispered hoarsly.
   "No." She replied bluntly. I could hear her soft footsteps as I pulled myself up.

Sitting in class I struggled to pay attention. I'd felt like shit all morning.
  My throat was dry and it was getting hard to breath. I made a groaning sound and layed my head on my desk.
   "You okay, dude?" I heard my friend, Tyler, asked. All I could do was let out a pained sound.
My body started burning and I struggled to breath.
  Food! Hunger! Blood!
That's what my mind screamed. The world was spinning around me, I couldn't even remember where I was. The nagging of my stomach was almost too much.
  Blood! Blood! Eat! Eat!
I couldn't take it. I wanted to scream. Why was this happening? What was wrong with me?
  "Lee?" Another voice broke through my confusion. I found myself looking up at my friend.
  Hehhehehehe!
 My thoughts were scrambled, making me sicker. "Wh-what?" I tried to sit up, but a pain shot through me.
"Hey don't get up, the nurse is on her way." The teacher, Mrs. Jewels, came into view.
"Just take it easy would ya. You almost passed out on us." Tyler said, handing me a bottle of water. I gulped it down, beginning to feel better. The nurse came in with a wheel chair and Tyler helped me into it.
"Ya goin' to be okay?"  He asked, a little worried. I didn't respond, too confused on what was happening. All I could remember was the hunger and echoing voice inside my head.
W-what happened?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I soon found myself in the nurses office, the world turning into a spinning blur again, but the nurse had left to retreave something. I could feel a nagging in my gut. I fell over clutching my stomach.
    So hungry. Need food. Please!
The voice in my head was now begging me. I felt like I was starving to death, even if we'd just had lunch. My stomach rumbled really loudly. I could feel my teeth growing and another row start to retract.
  Food! We need food!
I couldn't think, it was like some kind of monster was possessing me. My nails were growing to a point, they dug into the tiles underneath my hand. My heart pounded loudly in my ears and a growl left my lips against my will.
  Blood, we need blood. We'll never be strong enough.
I struggled to my feet a crazed smile on my face. I turned towards the door giggling uncontrollably. The nurse stepped in but froze in her tracks.
"Food!" I sang. My body was acting on it's own as I was pulled towards the frightened woman.
  Yes, this is perfect, She may not seem like much but she's enough to sustain me for now.
The nurse seemed to frightened to move as I leaned down to her neck. I grinned as she started shaking.
  I opened my mouth to speak, but the voice wasn't my own. "So fragile, so weak. I could snap your neck if I felt like it."
The thing controlling me hissed. I could feel the hunger growing, but before my teeth could cut into her flesh I managed to whisper a 'sorry'.
  Good, so good. Just wait till you get a taste of the good stuff. The ones that fight back are the best.
I could feel her blood running down my throat. This had to be painful, but she didn't scream. More and more of the world seemed to disappear as I fed.
  Too much. Slow down. I can't take it! Hehehe!
The voice was laughing hysterically as I pulled back, feeling faint. The nurses body fell to the floor, lifeless. My heart was beating fast, the sound louder that the giggling in my head. It was all to much. The world went black as I fell to the floor myself.
