Lee's pov (Chp. 3 Flashback)

Where is dad he said he'd be back soon. I paced around my room wonder if dad would ever truly come back. Mom was growing ill and dad had been gone for awhile now. I sighed and looked at my 1 year old brother. We had plenty of formula for him enough to last till he was about 3. My sister Kayla walked into the room.

"Lee you okay?" She looked up at me. I shook my head and hugged my twin.

"What if dad never comes back what if mom she sick! I don't even know if she will be okay let along Zack I mean he's only 1! If something were to happen to mom-" she cut me off by putter her finger on my lips.

"We can take care of Zack we know how! Mom will be okay we have to believe!" She smiled at me. I calmed down and smiled, Kayla was right we can take care of Zack.

"Lee! Kayla!" Izzy called running down towards us, she sounded extremely worried.

"What's wrong?" Kayla questioned and Izzy looked up at us.

"Something's wrong with mom" I darted up stairs and saw mom crawling towards Zack crib. She became one of them. I shot her in the head and picked up Zack.

"Kayla! Izzy! Let's go! Pack up food, ammo, medicine, and I got the stuff for Zack!" I shouted down stairs. I grabbed Zack's diaper bag, some bottles, diapers, and his little carrier. I put the carrier on and put him in. I put the bag over my shoulder and grabbed the weapons I could carry. I went down stairs to check on the other two. They had their backpacks ready and all the guns they could carry. We left the house heading off to find a new home. We ended up in Spotsylvania. I heard a high pitched scream from a nearby house. I broke down the door to the house and a girl ran behind me, a walker stumbled out from where she came from. I shot the walker without hesitation, I turned and looked at the girl. Kayla was calming her.

"What's ur name?" I crouched down and Zack grabbed her hair. She smiled at us.

"Lindsey Highhand" she smiled. I savaged the house for any weapons or medicine. I found a hand cannon and a shit ton of fucking ammo for it. I went into the garage to see a truck, it had the keys in it so hopefully it works. I had the girl help me load all the ammo in the truck and had Lindsey get a backpack of all her medicine and some food. The bed of the truck was packed full of ammo for the hand cannon and a few other rounds for Lindsey shotgun. I started the truck and Lindsey opened the garage. She hopped back in the truck and we drove to the one place I knew in Spotsys. The mall. I pulled into the auto repair part and the place was way to empty. I loaded the hand cannon and everyone readied their guns. We stayed on high alert the entire time as we cleared out Costco and the mall. I grabbed Zack a plush German Shepard from build a bear and went back to Costco. I let Zack walk after we put all the walker bodies in a pile outside and burned them. We saw some puppies sniffing the bodies and we took them inside. They looked to just have their eyes and ears opened. There was two huskies, a boy and a girl, and there was a German Shepard which was a girl. I looked around the Costco looks like this is where we are starting our new lives. Maybe one day we will see dad again unless he already got eaten by the walkers.
