Its been 11 years now and mars is still drifting slowly out of orbit towards earth. The problem is nobody can stop it from crashing into our planet.....Earth. Only a few brave volunteers have were sent out to try to find life on any other planet in our.... endless dark space....... or is it.
"Madds get up your gonna be late for school!" Yells Erick to his five year old daughter Maddy. " Morning dad," said Ericks 10 year old son, Max, as he sprints down the stairs. Maddy flopps down the stairs looking almost mad at her dad for waking her up.
"What do u guys want for breakfast?" Asked Erick almost happy that they are finally awake on time. "Do you guys want some pancakes?" asked Erick as he pulled out pancake mix. Max's eyes widened when his dad asked about the pancake and he excitedly said, "YES!" Maddy nodded and almost let out alittle, "yeah."
Erick turned on the news because he liked having a little bit of sound while he cooked. Everything was going fine until the weather man started talking about mars getting closer to Earth. Maddy instantly plugged her ears so she no long could here the man. Maddy started to cry because the thought about mars getting closer to Earth makes her remember that her dad will be leaving to try to find a planet, that humans are capable of living on, in just 2 months.
Erick instantly stops cooking and runs over to Maddy and asks her why she's crying. "Because i don't want you to go and i don't want Mars to crash into Earth," crys maddy "Oh madds i have to go look for life but i can do something about your fear of mars crashing into earth" said Erick. " YOU CAN!" replies maddy so happy. " Of course, " Erick says as ge hands her a watch. "As long as this watch is ticking our earth will be fine." Says Erick to Maddy. "REALLY?" asks Maddy. Erick nods his head. Maddy grabs the watch so happy to know that she is safe untill her dad get back from his journey.
She had no idea that was just to make her calm down. Erick couldn't just tell a 5 year old that Earth is gonna be gone and that I they don't leave, they will die. On the other hand Max knew what his Dad was doing but kept his mouth shut.
"Max your gonna have to babysit your sister until grandma gets here okay? She'll be here in about 2 hours, and Maddy.... you're ok."
