Chapter One

Introducing me

Some say falling in love is as easy as ABC. But honestly, I have to disagree. During my 16 years of living, I have never fell in love before. And no one, human or wizard, has ever fall in love with me, so I’m single since I was born.

Some say, I haven’t found the right guy. But how do I find the right guy? What if it’s the WRONG guy? How would I know?

 I’m Katie Perez (single for 16 years now) and this is my story of searching for TRUE LOVE.

Oh, and did I mention I’m half witch. But not a witch that uses magic and brooms.

In my world, people with abilities are called witches and wizards. By abilities, I mean special powers like flying, teleporting and even stopping time. But I’m Just a HALF witch, so I’m actually weak at using my ability. Which is being able to become invisible.

Not that cool or anything, in this world, that’s the most common ability for a witch. And I’m not even full. Just half. This is because my mum married a human, which is my dad.

              “That looks totally cute on you. You look like a penguin. A baby penguin.” Nathan Hastings said, a grin plastered on his handsome face. He’s a human.  Instead of rolling my eyes like how I use to, I smile at him politely, “Why thank you, Nathan. I love penguins.”

We are in the living room waiting for my older brother, Trey, also a half witch. I had ask Nathan how did I look when I came down from my room and saw him watching television. He smirks. “Oh really?” Nathan is a year older than me, he is Trey’s best friend.

              Nathan is handsome, he gives me butterflies in my stomach when he smiles. But I don’t tell him that of course. He’s going to tease me about that till forever. And he’s very, VERY hot. Especially for a human. He is tall and has muscular body.

 He always takes his shirt off, like all the time, even when mum is around. And I always caught myself blushing when I see those 8 packs and try my best to make a poker face while enjoying the view. He doesn’t know though, I always said he looked overweight. Obviously not true. Nathan is damn hot.

“Seriously Nathan, how do I look?” I said, wanting an honest opinion from a guy. Trey is going to a party and Nathan thought bringing me along would be a great idea. I think so too. I get to  meet other guys and socialize.

Besides, I’m on a mission. A mission to fall in love. With the right guy of course. Human or wizard, I don’t mind. We pretty much get along pretty well. Nobody cares if anyone is a witch, wizard  or human, there is no competition.

Nathan smiles, “You look amazing as always” A wide grin instantly makes it way to my face. The butterflies again. “Thanks” I said, still smiling. I’m wearing a black and white dress. It fits my body perfectly as it enhance my curves and appear out fluffy in the bottom. I twirl my dress.

“Are you trying to look cute in front of me?” Nathan said, smirking. “Of course not, why would ANYONE do that?” I replied innocently. He gave me a look and I laugh, I love being with Nathan I feel comfortable around him. But he’s not an option though, to fall in love with I mean,  because of only 3 reasons.

1.       He’s my brother’s best friend.

2.       He’s a player, he changes girlfriends like people changes clothes.

3.       He’s MY BROTHER’S BEST FRIEND.

Trey makes his way to the kitchen, where Nathan and I are. “Ready to go kids?” he said, his car keys in his hand.  We nod and I get my Roxy sling bag with me. It’s small, made out of clothe and it’s white with cool pink Aztec patterns printed on it. I bring it everywhere, it’s a must bring, it has my phone, iPod, small make-up case and some cash.

I make my way to the car, a black porshe, it belongs to Trey, I wish I have my own car. The boys are already waiting for me, I seat at the back while Trey drives and Nathan seats in the passenger seat. I apply light make up on my face and more lip gloss.

“Wow, you’re really excited, aren’t you?” Nathan said and I can imagine him smirking while he said that. He turn back to look at me, “Is there a reason why you are?” His voice fill with amusement.

“Definitely not because of you.” I said, and I can see Trey smirk through the front mirror and I smirk too. Nathan made a face. “Whatever. I never said it was because of me.”

Trey and I both giggle at how childish Nathan is being.  He makes an annoyed face and pouts like a kid. A really cute kid.  A really cute and hot kid. A really- Okay stop, Katie. I need to focus on my goal. And that is, to find someone, anyone, in the party, who I can finally fall in love with.
