"Tokyo is so rainy today", said Veronica as she poured herself another cup of coffee. "It's so cold also". I looked at her and then looked out the window to see the rain pour down. "You don't say", I reached my hand over to eat a cookie. "Aren't you hungry?". She gave me a look and then she just shook her head. "How?" I asked her. She turned away from the table and then I heard the sound. Not any sound, THE SOUND. The sound of a young lady crying.
"Is everything okay?". She turned around and just looked at me then nodded. She smiled a little, but then I watched as the smile faded into a frown. "Just a heartbreak", she said. I knew she was in pain. I could tell when she first walked in. "Name..?".
It took her a while to respond, although, she was quiet unhappy she finally answered, "Samuel". I stared at her as a tear ran down her face and hit the ground. "I love him.......even though he never loved me......it burns". Then I paused and I looked down. "I understand Veronica I-". "I STILL LOVE HIM AND HE NEVER LOVED ME, he called me a BITCH and said he always hated me..". She paused and then moaned, "I'm an awful person...".
She stood up, and walked over to the window. "Are you okay?" I asked her. She just stood still looking out the window, at the rainy street in Tokyo. "I messed up......I messed up completely, he had his reasons and I had mine and I messed up". I got confused on the last part a little. "How?" I asked.
"It was a Monday, I was walking down the street to my house, and I saw Samuel hanging out with some other girl, I was jealous. After that, I was thinking of other things I could do to make him jealous. Then he messages me and tells me that we are done, and it's not working out", she said and a tear came rolling down her face. I felt bad, her love life was down the drain.
"I know how it feels when boys break up with you, yes it hurts but you'll get over it soon", I said. She looked at me and then looked at the ground. "You really think so?". I nodded and she smiled a little again. I learned that break ups can make you sad in all, but there is always a way to cure it, you just have to let someone else know you can.
Maybe I'm not a Yubikiri. I could be a PINKY SWEARER, but until today I could be changing my mind on that. Veronica sat on the couch and I followed and sat by her. She smiled and I smiled back. "So, wanna go throw eggs at my Ex's house?" I asked her. She smiled and said, "Absolutely not........without getting the eggs!". I laughed.
This year is going to be great. I can already tell that Veronica is my new best friend. She is amazing. She is unique. She is truly herself. I am so glad she is living in my apartment. "ARE YOU COMING!?" she yelled. "YEP!". I grabbed the key and ran out of the room then twisted the nob to lock the door.
[]I will be revealing secrets at the end! Keep in touch with my book![]
