CHAPTER SIX

REVEALED

PEYTON'S POV

Lunch went out like usual, I avoided eye contact with the ghost crew, and went straight to my car, planning on going off campus to eat. As I was approaching my car I heard footsteps behind me.

"Peyton, wait!" Kent's voice boomed. I kept walking, he quickly reached me on his own. "Why didn't you stop?" he asked. i snorted.

"Have I not been giving you clues?!" I responded.

"You have, but that doesn't mean I will give up. I'll get you to go on a date with me sometime." he replied.

"Well, don't hold your breath." I retorted. I opened my car he grabbed my wrist, which luckily was covered by my glove.

"You're making this more complicated than it has to be." he muttered.

"Trust me, my life is more complicated than you could ever imagine." I said. He looked me deep in the eyes. Searching me.

"Now why would it be complicated. I think you misunderstand the meaning." he said. He was acting like he knew something I didn't.

"And what exactly is your definition of complicated?" I asked. He stayed silent.

"It's not your business to know." he mumbled. We were both quiet.

"Stay away from her!" a male voice boomed from beside me. Damion appeared. Kent didn't react of course, I looked to him though. I pulled my arm away.

"I need to go." I quickly got in my car as quickly as I could. Not giving him time to react. I started the car and pulled out, leaving quickly. Damion's presence was right next to me in seconds.

"What the hell is going on?!" I screeched at him.

"Nothing-"

"Stop lying to me! I want answers now!" I interrupted. "What is it you have against Kent!"

"He's a bad influence!"

"And how would you know that?" I asked. We finally reached my house, believe it or not, I decided to skip the rest of school, I need rest. I got out of the car while he answered.

"I knew him when I was alive." he stated.

"More info would suffice." I pegged. I entered the house quickly, going straight to my room.

"He was my enemy in school. I was the student body president, the jock everybody liked, the nice guy, he was the rebel, the punk with the motorcycle, the bully." he explained.

"Really? He doesn't seem that bad to me? What did he ever do to you?" I asked. Throwing my bag on my bed and sitting on the window ledge.

"I'm not yet ready to reveal everything to you, Peyton." he refused. I threw my hands in the air.

"What will get you to tell me your secrets, Damion, the things that could be of importance?" I asked.

"Simple, tell me yours." he reasoned. My blood boiled, I was infuriated.

"I already told you no to that deal!"

"Doesn't mean I'm going to stop offering it. I want to know what your keeping inside."

"Why?" I demanded.

"Because you're different! I need to understand why. You have a different aura than other humans. What is it about you that makes you so different?" he asked.
