Dipper's (POV)
That morning when I woke up I heard Wendy sniff. I looked at her and she was crying. I pet her head, making her look up at me. I whipped her tears away from her eyes before I spoke up.
"Wendy, what's wrong?" she sighs.
"I have to go for three days."
"What, why?"
"Because, those wolves almost killed you! I need to give them pay back!"
"No Wendy, it's too dangerous, there's hunters out there!!
"Dipper, I need to do this!"
"Please Wendy, don't leave me here alone..."
Wendy's (POV)
When he said that I cried a little harder. I pulled him close and hugged him. We hugged for a while before I spoke up again.
"Dipper, you're not going to be alone. I have a friend coming to protect you awhile I'm gone."
His face lit up when I said that, he smiled before he spoke up.
"Really, who?"
Just then a goose flew into the cave. I knew this goose as Ralphie goose. He was my best friend since I was a puppy, and I trust him. But he was a clumsy goose, and he talked silly. But all in all, he is still a great friend. When Dipper first saw him, he looked at me in disbelief.
Dipper's (POV)
When I saw the goose, I thought he was just lost until Wendy smiled at him. Then I thought, oh no he is my protector. I turned to Wendy in disbelief, but she just smiled. I continued to ponder about the goose until he spoke up.
"Hehehe, hello Wendy. How is my favorite wolf doing?"
"Hi Ralphie, I'm doing fine. It's good to see you."
"Hehehe, I could say the same thing. Look at you, you get bigger every time I see ya."
"It was only a month ago."
"Huh, time flys for a goose. Get it? flys? HAHAHA!!"
I couldn't believe it, my protector was a clumsy goose?! I turned to Wendy and she was laughing at Ralphie's bad flying joke. I tapped her shoulder, and she turned to me.
"Wendy, you can't be serious?"
"Dipper, be nice!"
Ralphie then turned to me, and laughed before walking up to me. I felt nervous as he got closer.
"Hehehe, and who might you be little one?"
I hesitated before I spoke up again.
"D...Dipper..."
"Hehehe, nice to meet ya kid."
He then grabbed my hand and shook it, but he made my entire body shake. For a goose, he has a good grip. I fell to the ground dizzy, after he let go. Wendy then walked to us and looked down at Ralphie.
"Now Ralphie, promise me, you will take good care of Dipper."
"Hehehe, no problem Wendy. How hard can it be?"
"Just protect him..."
She looked up at me and spoke up again.
"I don't know what I would do if he got hurt."
"Hehehe, don't worry your pretty little head Wendy, he is in good wings. Get it? Wings? Because I have no hands or paws? HAHAHA!!!"
"hahaha, good one. I'll be off then."
She walked back to me, and licked my head gently, and then ran off. It was raining when she left, which made me more worried about her. Ralphie then turned to me and smiled. I walked to the opening of the cave and sat down. I don't know why but, Wendy is like family to me, and now that she was gone I couldn't help but weep as the rain storm got harder. I then felt fealthers on my shoulder. I turned to see Ralphie's wing was around me.
"Don't worry kiddo, Wendy will be back in three days."
"That's two days too many."
"Aww cheer up Dipper. Why don't you get some fresh air. It looks like the rain is calming down."
"Yeah okay."
He was right, the rain was calming down. So I walked out side to the creek. I stayed there for awhile just to collect my thoughts. It was about two hours later when I decided to head back. I got up from the wet ground, and walked home. When I got there I was shocked. I saw Ralphie there bleeding and moaning in pain. I ran over to him, and picked him up gently.
"Ralphie, what happened?"
"Oooh, the wolves came looking for ya, but I didn't tell them where you were, and they beat me up for it."
"Oh Ralphie, I'm so sorry."
"Wait, if they were looking for me? Then...WENDY!!!"
It hit me like a bag of bricks. If they were after me, them they're after Wendy as well!! I quickly patched up Ralphie and I ran out of the cave, in search of Wendy. But Ralphie flew in front of me, blocking the way.
"Woah, woah, kiddo where do you think you're going?"
"I need to warn Wendy before it's too late!"
"You're not going anywhere. I promised her that I would keep you safe."
"Please Ralphie, she is my best friend, she is like family to me."
"Then I'm going with you."
"No, you're too badly hurt, please stay here, I will be okay."
"But you can't go alone!"
"Someone told me that I'm never alone."
He sighed before he smiled at me and I smiled back. He moved out of the way and spoke up again.
"Then what are you waiting for? Go get her!"
"Thanks Ralphie, I own you one!!"
Ralphie's (POV)
I stayed there and watched him run into the forest. I put my wings on my hips and sighed happily before I spoke up again.
"Ah kids, they grow up so fast." I then walked back to the den, and guarded it from any other wolves.
