Chapter ten: "I'd come for you."

Wendy's (POV)

That night after Ralphie went home, me and Dipper were back at our den. I was curled up around Dipper, and I slept soundly, knowing that Dipper is safe with me again. A few hours later in the middle of the night, I heard singing. I opened my eyes, and turned to see Dipper was gone. I then looked to the cave opening and saw Dipper there singing. But what he was singing I didn't know. I got up and walked to him. I stopped a few feet away from him, and listened to his singing.

"Just one more moment."

"That's all that's needed."

"Like wounded soldiers, in need of healing."

"Time to be honest, this time I'm bleeding."

"Please don't dwell it, because I didn't mean it."

"I can't believe I said I'd lay our love on the ground."

"But it doesn't matter cause I made it up, forgive me now."

"Everyday I spend away my soul is inside out."

"Gotta be some way that I can make it up, to you now some how."

When I heard the first half I was on the brake of tears. But I stayed quite as he continued to sing.

"I was blind folded."

"But now I'm seeing."

"My mind was closing, now I'm believing."

"I finally know just what it means, to let someone in."

"So if you ever lost and find yourself, all alone."

When he stopped I was crying hard. I ran to him, and hugged him tight. Tighter than I ever have before. He was shocked but he held me back. I licked his cheeks repeatedly. He was laughing, but I couldn't help the tears from streaming down my face. He whipped my tears away and I spoke up.

"Dipper, did you mean all that about me?"

"Of course Wendy, you know I'll always come for you. You're my best friend and I can't help but want to stay with you."

"You are my best friend too Dipper."

"You saved me Wendy, I say I should return the favor."

I smiled at him and licked his head gently. I layed down and he layed down next to me. I curled myself around him, and smiled again. He smiled back and he fell asleep in my arms. I looked up at the sky, and saw a shooting star. I licked his ear, and fell asleep smiling.
